Bachelorette Party Question

So here's my dilemma: We are having our bachelor/bachelorette parties 2 days before the wedding in Vegas.  My problem is finding some place to go for dinner.  I need to make a reservation for 19 people for my bachelorette party.  I invited all the women that are coming to join us in Vegas to the dinner portion of the party.  I don't want to do a pre set menu.  I just want to go some place where my guests can order what they want and pay with separate checks.  The issue is the size of my group.  I'm pretty sure nowhere will let us have that many separate checks.  Anyone have a bachelor/bachelorette group this size?  Should I just plan to make 2 separate reservations at the same place - one for a group of 10 and one for a group of 9?  We were discussing Hussong's Cantina as an option since most of us will be heading over to Excalibur after for Thunder From Down Under.  Let me know your thoughts/ideas.  Thanks!

Re: Bachelorette Party Question

  • I think Hussong's might give you trouble on doing it that way if you want tables reserved; they normally require one or two checks max if they're holding tables for a group event.

Could you do a buffet?  Typically those work where you pay on your way in and then you just eat whatever you want and leave a tip at the end for the wait staff.  There's of course many great buffet options in Vegas.

  • Yeah, but the last thing I want to do before a night of drinking is eat too much at the buffet.

I guess I'll just try to call Hussong's and see if they have any options available for me.  Unfortunately, since my maid of honor has never been to Vegas before, I am stuck kind of trying to figure it all out.

I might just have like 3 smaller groups make a reservation at the same time.  We don't have to sit together. I would just like us all at the same place so we can head out of the rest of the night together.

  • That might work.  Just keep in mind that restaurants will typically insist on one check if the group is of 8 or more, so you'd probably want to make three reservations for 7 each, or less.  Hussong's is a long narrow restaurant and fortunately what will work in your favor is the first half of the restaurant is mostly high tops that seat 4, so just by the fact that you're booking for 7 you'll end up in the second half of the restaurant where they have the larger low top tables.  If they accept all three reservations for 7 each, then you're pretty much guaranteed to all be sitting near each other because you'll all have to be given tables in the back area.  The area is only wide enough for two long rows of tables so if you're not next to each other, worst case you'll be back to back.

  • Thanks for the info! I am going to call them today and see how large of a group I can book and still have separate checks. Then I will go from there. I hope I can work something out. I really want to have dinner there. Plus, they have a vegan menu, and my maid of honor is vegan, so she would be quite happy.

  • Good news!  I called them on my lunch break today.  They said they can do a party of 10 with separate checks, so I'll just make 2 separate reservations and we should be good.

  • Cool, you'll like it there, especially if you'll be there on a Thursday to Saturday evening; they have a great three piece mariachi band who will play just about anything.

  • That's another reason we wanted to have it there!  It will be on a Thursday night.  Plus, I quite enjoy margaritas, so I am looking forward to that.

  • Their margaritas are pretty good, a little pricey but strong so not that bad overall.  Not too much mix, just right.
