Wedding Insurance

Hi - Just wondering if it is the norm to purchase an insurance policy for the big day? I think my planner and venue cover some stuff, but curious if anyone else has any incite on this?

    I purchased insurance because we are renting a house for the wedding and doing the ceremony and reception there with alcohol. Had we decided to go alcohol free (no way in hell) we wouldn't have needed to buy the insurance.

    Hey Lauren - thanks for the info. Our venue is the same, we are bringing in our own alcohol. So did you just end up opting for additional liability insurance? Or did you opt for liability and cancelation insurance? THanks for the info!

    We had liability insurance for venue, but also had cancellation insurance in the event there was some unforeseen issues (weather, vendors, etc.)
