WR: Last minute DIY escort card ideas, who's crafty?

Girls-

I may be crazy, but last night I sat and did my escort cards for the wedding.  I bought some simple, gilt edged tented cards that are elegant and wrote out our guest's names in cursive.  My handwriting is passable, but I'm feeling sort of 'meh' about them.  I'm considering trying to find an easy DIY idea to do instead.  Our colors are purple and orange, we're having a small, lakeside dinner reception for about 50 people.  Who's crafty and has a suggestion?  I know we have some really creative people here.  Please keep in mind I'm not Martha Stewart...  Heh.

Thanks!

What about adding a purple and/or orange ribbon across the top like this:

Pumpkins would seem out of place to me for a June wedding.

We skipped cards and made a board. Since you have a small wedding it might work for you too (we had 70 guests). I wrapped a piece of foam board in nice wrapping paper, printed the names out on computer paper and then used an edger on the colored paper to insert the white paper.

OH! I guess I can see that now. They look like mini pumpkins with a leaf on top to me hahaha

The clementines are too cute! You could also stick a toothpick inside the clementine and have the escort tag attached to the toothpick or a cardholder pick?

I've seen the clementines idea before!  That's too cute.

I figure the clementines would be pretty easy.  I'll just need to get the pins, cut out the leafs, and get a silver pen or something from Hobby Lobby or Michael's.  I'll need something to do the night before to keep my mind occupied!

I really like the ones with the ribbons that  @rdr716 posted. For some reason I don't really like the clementines. The board idea is good too though :)

    I love Schiano's board.

Like Beth, I'm honestly not in love with the clementines either. What about the same idea, but with mini-muffins, mini-cupcakes or mini-brownies?

Like this, but with names instead of faces:image

    I'd do the ribbon, personally.

Oh! I love @allusive007 's cupcake idea! Of course that could be because I just really love cupcakes in general...thus why I need to lose like 70 lbs lol

I really liked my cards, but I don't think I have a photo handy. I used regular tent cards and used an edge punch to create a fancy edge and then glued a colored card behind it. The colors also signified the meals. Let me go look for a photo. They were quite easy.

Edit: Found a photo! Ignore the one on the far right. I used clear labels with the table number and name in a fancy font. Instructions in my bio: clicky

This isn't really a quick project but I've always liked the idea of framed window panes with white writing or frames with little tags like these:
