Well, we pulled a fast one on everyone and eloped! Technically I guess we really didn't elope since our parents were there, but no one else knew beforehand. When our guest list got up to 230 people attending, it hit me that we were doing this for everyone but ourselves. All we wanted was to be married... the reception wasn't that important to us. So we decided to use the $35k wedding budget to renovate and put an addition on our house. We went to a beautiful spot in Sedona, AZ and had my dad marry us.
It was an amazing day and couldn't have been more perfect. We were able to focus on US and only us - and it's an experience that was so emotional that it will be a moment we always hold sacred.
