I still can't believe I am married and actually posting MY reviews on here! I still feel like I am in a dream. I still get choked up looking at our photos and thinking of our vows because it really was everything I had wanted and I am just so happy! After months of watching the online weddings at our chapel, I felt like I was having an out of body experience that here we were, in our moment seeing what we see every weekend online, only it was actually happening for us! It was really surreal. We stayed a whole week for part of our honeymoon in Vegas and it really is true that you just feel exhausted after the wedding because I did and it was great to de-stress with my new husband On to the reviews!
Southpoint Hotel & Casino A+
We stayed here when we arrived on Friday and never have complaints about it. Besides the Golden Nugget being our favorite hotel, Southpoint is our second favorite. The rooms are big, clean and nice. We also love playing here. They have good slot machines and the waitresses keep the drinks coming! At their cafe, from midnight to 6 a.m., they have steak and eggs (steak, eggs, hashbrowns and toast) for $3.95 and it's good! Hubby will drive from downtown to here during the night just to eat that! He's a little obessed with it LOL
Golden Nugget Hotel A+++++
We checked in on Saturday the day before the wedding to stay in the Rush Tower Suite for the entire week. They had it noted that we were getting married and gave us a strip view room on the 25th floor (the only one left) so we were very happy and given another reason as to why we love the Golden Nugget! The room was very nice, clean and spaceous. Considering it was a holiday weekend, and there was some punk bowling convention going on, the rooms were very quiet and I heard no chaos or anything.
Marriage License Bureau A+
Completed the pre-application online and we were in and out of there with no problem within minutes.
Tuxedo Junction A+
We picked up hubby's tux on Saturday the day before the wedding and they had it all ready to go. He tried it on and everything was perfect. It was a really elegant tux and we couldn't have been happier. You can't beat the price either-$80 and they also pick the tux up from your hotel the next day.
OG-Olympic Gardens (Bachelor/Bachelorette Party) A+++
OHHHHH MY MY MY LOL All us girls and the guys decided to go here together the night before the wedding seeing it was a one stop shop. The male dancers are upstairs and the topless female dancers are downstairs for the guys. I wasn't too sure what we were getting into going here based on some reviews from online, but lord, am I glad we went with it LOL It was $30 to get in (no drink minimum) and us girls quickly made our way upstairs and sat front and center at the stage. The drinks are expensive though. A Blue Moon was $12 and a White Russian was $15. The music is great and the men dance really good. There were a few that worked the floor and try to trick you into lap dances, by telling you your friend is buying you a lap dance so you should surprise her and buy her one too, but we were up on that game already and passed. I could honestly say that the men were HOT with one ugly one- The tennis shoes with a speedo wasn't cutting it for us. LOL BUT, there was one, SPARTACUS, who was gorgeous and I actually got a private lap dance from (oh the drooling lol). My sister got me a second lap dance from another hottie I don't remember his name but it was fun! LOL If you do go here, do yourselves a favor and everyone else by actually either wearing shorts/ pants or if you insist on wearing a micro mini dress, wear boy shorts under your dress! I swear we seen more lady private parts being tossed around on stage than the actual mens! LOL If they do bring you on stage to give you a dance, they aren't settle-Your legs are tossed in every direction and position! LOL
Jason's Deli A
I ordered a continental breakfast tray with orange juice for 10 for the morning of the wedding to be delivered and they were exactly on time, set up the tray, plates, cups, etc. Everything was very good, but the portions were not huge. I definately could have bought this same stuff that was on the tray myself for way cheaper at the store than for what I paid them ($50 for bagels, pastries which were only 10 pieces in total)
Makeup in the 702 (Makeup: F, Hair: A+)
Here's where my day quickly turned to my worst nightmare coming true! My makeup artist was Celina and hairstylist was Courtney. They showed up on time, actually, 15 mins early. They were both very nice, got to work setting up, then made sure to go over what I wanted by showing them pictures on my phone of hair and makeup. Celina called me the day before to go over what look I was going for and had put me at ease by seeming confident in being able to give me my sexy smokey eye look I was going for. As Celina did my makeup, with each makeup application she did on me, she gave out 'oohhhs and ahhhs and omg beautiful'! Imagine my horror, when Celina was done with my makeup and Courtney with my hair and they told me to look in the mirror by how beautiful I looked and the only words I could utter out were 'oh sh#t'! They said, is that good or bad?? REALLY???? My hair was really pretty, held up all night, no complaints, but my makeup....OMG I looked like Frankenstein's Bride!! She had all black eyeshadow from my lid all the way up to my brows, thick black eyeliner..AND not even blended in, all blotchy! My eyebrows, were filled in thin, bumpy and not even with eachother, the airbrush makeup I could see up close was all caked and dried out!! Now mind you, they showed up at 1 and the limo was picking us up at 3 and by this time it was 2:40!! I was crying, shaking and wanted her out of my face so I could try to fix the nightmare she created while she stood there watching me! This isn't what I paid $250 for. I should have been looking like a freaking celebrity, not a poster child for Fright Night! I was LIVID and stressed for time now because of her mess up that I had to take over and try to fix. I do makeup on the side for brides and I am honestly still not only traumatized by this but pissed off at myself for not following my gut feeling of doing my makeup myself and just getting my hair done. Everyone told me, why are you having someone else do your makeup when you do it great yourself and your picky? But I didn't listen to myself or others because I felt I'm a bride and want to be pampered! The next day, I still could not shake this, so I contacted Megan, who is very nice and always responds to emails quickly, to tell her my complaint. She refunded me back $75. Though I got some of my money back, I can't get back the fact that I missed out on my first look photos because we were running late me having to still get my dress on with the limo waiting for 15 mins past our pick up time. My advice. Do a trial! If you do your makeup great, do it yourself. Pamper yourself by having your sanity getting ready on your wedding day! Also, give yourself more time to get ready. They told me they work fast and 1pm would be more than enough time for me to be ready and out the door for the limo at 3. That might have been true IF she freakin knew how to do makeup!! Errrrr
Executive Limo C-
The only reason I'm giving this guy a C- is because he was on time and we were running 15 mins late. Other than that, I didn't care for his crappy attitude the entire time! For one, there was six of us in the limo and it was hot that day. We asked him to turn the air conditioning on and he got all snotty saying that's as much air that comes out and it doesn't work! It was also made clear that we were to be dropped off at the Shark Reef entrance and here he pulls up in front of Mandalay at the valet parking. I quickly reminded him that we need to be dropped off at the Shark Reef entrance and he got all ticked, parking the limo, getting out and having to ask someone where it was! Oh take your time we have alllll the time in the world here LOL
Mandalay Bay-THEwedding Chapel A+++
I LOVE this chapel. We were in the Gold Chapel and it is just so modern and elegant. I brought in my own white and silver rose petals and I was worried about having enough time to set them up in the chapel and the coordinator who was assisting me this day seeing mine was off said no problem that she would set them up for me along the aisle. When I got into the brides room, she had my bouquet and it was gorgeous just how I wanted EXCEPT the bling around the handle was missing. She quickly said she would go see where that was at and within a few minutes, had the handle with the bling as I had wanted it. Now time for the next issue. The coordinator came back saying there was a problem with the cd that we put our exit song on and it isn't working! NOOOOO I need that song! I begged her if there was anyway they could get this song off Youtube or something and she quickly said let me get with the audio guys and see what they can do. Within a few minutes, she came back to my bridal room with one of the girls that works in audio and she told me she was able to burn our song onto a new cd and that it was ready to go!! OMG they saved the day and I gave them both big hugs for going all out for me. Next thing I knew, it was wedding time and as I stood behind the door, waiting for it to open for me to walk down, my heart was racing, and here was our moment! As the doors opened, and I entered to walked down the aisle, I heard guests gasp and seen my soon to be husband a mess crying and it was just like this perfect moment in time. We had requested Rudy to be our officiant because we loved his vows and he was so sweet and did an excellent job. All the guests said how perfect the ceremony was and how gorgeous the chapel is. The chapel also helped my sister out who was on crutches but couldn't do all the walking, by getting her a wheelchair that included an escort to push her around LOL
Cashman Photography A+
Like everyone else, I didn't expect a whole lot here. We had my husband's best friend who is also a photographer, on hand to take all of our photos except in the chapel (which he still took being inside there). We had our appt with Cashman the day after the wedding to view our photos and we loved them! They turned out really nice and our photographer, Matthew was very nice too and did a great job. They didn't pressure us into buying anything at all which I did end up purchasing an 8x10 with the nice silver frame and a brag book.
Hussong's Cantina A+++
We had our dinner reception here and not only was the food delicious but the Rock n' Roll Mariachi's were awesome entertainment! We still have guests telling us how much they loved them and what a great dinner it was! The service was wonderful. From the moment we all arrived we had constant service from bringing drinks, appetizers, keeping the chips coming, checking in on us, they served me and hubby first and all the guests quickly right after. No one had any complaints and we had a lot of food with the portions they serve. The Rock n' Roll Mariachi's had us all singing and cracking up laughing. THE BEST TIME EVER!
Sin City Cupcakes A+++++++++++++
These cupcakes are to die for! Guests were blown away when they were served these for dessert. We didn't provide alcohol, so these alcohol-infused cupcakes were our alcohol for our guests and man did they go crazy over them! I had Sin City Cupcakes also set up for me at Hussong's on a small table and they did an excellent job giving me my 'black and bling' theme! It was so pretty the way they set up the bling tier, tray and frames that held the names of the cupcakes.
THEmix Lounge A++
After dinner, everyone joined us at THEmix lounge for dancing. Through the chapel, the cover charge was waived and guests LOVED IT. The view is amazing and they just couldn't get over it. It is also very classy and everyone in our group of all ages was very comfortable there. Me and hubby were surprised to find that they had reserved tables for us right in front of the window with the views and the manager also brought me and my honey each a glass of champagne congratulating us! We had a great time dancing and I know we got some awesome pictures inside of there so I can't wait until we get those back.
More reviews to follow and PICS!!
