What are your colors?

I am having the WORST time picking colors! I live in MS so they need to be rustic and southern looking LOL. Suggestions?

I don't think colors are "southern looking". I've seen pretty much every color in the rainbow when I have spent time in the south. Pick colors you love and that compliment each other.

we had sangria (purpleish/burgundy) and apple green.

Why the hell would your colors need to be "rustic and southern looking" just b/c you live in MS? This now makes my list of one of the strangest things I've heard of when planning a wedding.

I agree that your colors don't have to relate to the state you live in. I am kind of weird about colors, too, though, so I kind of get that.

Our colors are gold, champagne, white, and ivory.

I had a difficult time choosing, too. I kept changing my mind! After a lot of waffling I went back to my original palette: navy, pine green, mint green and white, with a little silver and peach worked in. It's really just a mix of my favorite colors, and they ended up looking really nice together when I picked up the paint swatches and laid them out.

I know many people say that choosing too many colors can look busy, but if they're different shades of the same color (meaning: mint green and pine green, peach and orange, light gray and dark gray, navy and powder blue) I think it looks stunning. Or you can base your colors on something familiar, like a favorite photo or painting. I played around with pulling colors from Monet's Waterlilies for a while.

I actually prefer a palette (or array of complementary colors) to just two or three accent colors. Just my personal taste.

My colors, which I thought was a dumb idea until I realized I had to have some consistency are purlple the color of his birthstone and green the color of mine.It was easy and a no brainer.

Colors aren't really themed (unless you go with something obvious like black and orange). I say pick whatever your favorites are and then work your "southern and rustic" look into them whatever way you want.

The folks on this board can't really tell you which colors to go with, we don't know anything about you or what you like! Check out color palates on this site and see what you like. That might help you choose.

For the record, ours are red and black.

We don't have colors. We're having wildflowers, so whatever is in season, and anything goes for the BMs and the grooms maid . Neutral table accoutrements.

It may look wonderful, and it may look awful, but at least decorating has been easy.
