Confused about my wedding dress

So I bought my wedding dress about a month ago, and my wedding isn't till November. When I was trying it on, I liked it, but I wanted to make sure it wasn't the same one that a friend of mine wore for her wedding.

This past weekend I went to her house and upon closer inspection of her wedding pictures, it turns out that I bought the exact same dress with the exception that mine is more of a cream ivory rather than white.

I don't know what to do, no alterations have been made - should I return it? This sucks!!

Re: Confused about my wedding dress

  • Do you really like the dress and your concern is that a friend wore the same dress for her wedding?  If so then keep your dress.  You didn't even realize it was the same dress so no one else will.  Don't put too much thought into it unless it's about how much you love your dress.

  • Do you like the dress? If so, don't worry about it being the same as your friends. To be honest, i doubt anyone would notice. However, if you aren't happy with your choice, maybe check with the shop you bought it from and look at getting a different one.

  • I don't think that this is a big deal at all but I can understand that you do. To me it wouldn't really matter.
  • Are there any small alterations to make it your own - adding or subtracting a belt, straps, or changing the neckline?  Either way, you will be wearing it with your own choice of jewelry, veil, flowers, hairstyle...  no one will notice!
  • Can you post a picture of the dress so we can see what you are working with?
  • So here's a link to the dress.

I'm still confused. Not sure that I love it, not sure that I hate it. I did go and try on a Maggie Sottero gown at a different store, and I LOVED it. Hopefully I'll be able to return it. If not, then I'm stuck.

But thanks ladies for your advice. You are correct that I will be making the dress my own with my veil and accessories. Smile
