FI and I are discussing going on a cruise for our honeymoon. Less expensive than Argentina/Antartica (our dream destination) and while we'd be traveling, we'd have the shipboard activities if we wanted to do something in between ports. We're getting married in March, but waiting till May/June to take our honeymoon to combine in FI's graduation trip before grad school. The problem: FI has never been on a cruise before (unless you count 8 months at sea in the US Marines). I want him to experience a short, 3-5 day cruise now, see if he likes it, before we're on a ship for 15 days and he says on day 2 "I don't like this; why did we choose this again?" A port near us has a 5 day 4 night cruise to Cozumel and back between Christmas and New Years. I'm considering getting us a cabin and making that FI's Christmas present from me.
Thoughts on this? Not doing it just because I don't want him complaining on honeymoon- also want him to relax and enjoy himself, and give him something awesome for us to do together as some pre wedding/post holiday alone time.
