I'm considering hiring a DOC for my wedding.  I have totally settled on the idea but I think it might be helpful for me. 
I would love to know if anyone has any recommendations.  Also, an idea of the price range would be helpful.  Just want to make sure I plan accordingly when it comes to the $$. I don't have a range in mind since I'm not really sure what the average is.  I'm sure it varies but I'd like to have some type of idea.

    I am using No Limit Events and Gabriela is WONDERFUL!  They offer full, partial, and day of coordination packages.  I went with the full package, so I'm not sure on pricing for DOC, but I can tell you that of the three companies I spoke to, they were the not only the most reasonably priced, but the most friendly as well.

    Thank you for your feedback!  I'm still back and forth.  I've been talking to someone with Peony Event Planning in Morristown.  She seems REALLY nice but I'm just trying to decide if it's really worth it or not.

    I contacted an acquaintance and for the day of only, it was $800.

    I ultimately decided that it would be best to do the crafts (table numbers, escort cards, etc) myself since I enjoy that sort of thing, and I plan on hiring my sister's friend to meet at the reception hall and assist with set up. (This is a person who would not normally be invited, but close enough to want to help and could use some extra money.) She will be around to help and see that things go smoothly, but wouldn't be there for more than an hour or so. Also, the florist will do the tables, the venue does favors and even escort cards I believe, so this is just for the extras - like the photobooth and event painter and candy bar. (I plan on having the candy bar out the entire time)

    The DOC included help with the ceremony and lining up - our ceremony will be at a church and the pastor will cover all of that at the rehearsal. Also, the DOC stays the entire reception, and our maitre'd will be there as well.

    There are situations where I totally would have hired her, but I feel for our day, it is not necessary.
