We have been engaged for 1 1/2 weeks and we are planning on a January/February 2014 wedding so I don't feel like I have the luxury of just "enjoying being engaged".
I'm SUPER EXCITED to start planning the wedding but I also want to enjoy the process and not rush decisions. My FI wants very little to do with wedding planning (this is his second wedding and his first experience was a nightmare because of his ex-wife) so I don't want to overwhelm him either.
I have a vision for the day that is warm, elegant and laid back. I prefer a bruch/early afternoon reception with no dancing in a room that has some character (industrial loft, slightly rustic golf course, etc.) so I can scale back on DIY decor.
Since we got back from vacation on Sunday I feel like I have been bouncing all over the place. I have emailed venues that interest me (yeah! most of them have tons of availability in January and February) and browsed Pinterest for decor ideas but if feel like if someone said "squirrell" I would run off on another tangent.
Is this normal or am I BSC?
Also, how many venues should I visit? My top three all appear to fit my vision and our budget (and anticipated guest list). Should I visit all three? Start with my favorite or start with my least favorite? EEEEKKK... lol
