  • I think we are going to make drink holders for the DDB, and get some bags of personalised chocolate poker chips and give everyone a $5 poker chip in with those!

We're very tempted by the personalised M&Ms too though, may also get some of those if we have time ....

  • I got mine from The Knot when they were having a sale.  We got personalized playing cards and personalized shot glasses. The shot glasses had dice on them and our names and wedding date.  They were a hit!

  • We are doing cup koozies and match books, this way we can use them at the reception at home as well :)

  • @ktbabe I am putting shot glasses in their welcome bags and I found the I heart Vegas shot glasses from the Las Vegas giftshop.

They have a lot of Vegas stuff pretty cheap.

  • My parent's gave away napkins and matchbooks at their wedding in 1973.  Apparently, it was the thing to do!  We thought it would be fun to replicate them, so we are doing the same.  I am going to order them off of the Knot shop.  Just waiting for a good sale!
  • @J9lawrence - Get the box matches!  lol.  I have been to lots of weddings that give out matches.  I am having some too with my Cigar bar.  Anyways, I have had the kind that are in the pack and the kind that are in the boxes and I love the box ones.  I keep them and use to light candles (for those romantic nights) lol.  Anyways, the book matches always seem to work horribly and the tips of the matches always pop off and just ruin the moment. My man has sworn to never use the packs again! :-)  Just my opinion, thought I would share.

  • thank you all for the response .... I decided to make a welcome bag and now I am looking for a place that make recyclable bags so we can put some favors. I contacted the Las Vegas convention center today and I will be picking up some brochures with information of tourism in Vegas .... If you have a suggestion about what I could be putting inside the bag, please feel free to leave your suggestion .. I will appreciate ... I am looking for things related to Las Vegas like water bottles with personalized labels to help them deal with heat, casino chips, etc .....
  • We did koozies with a pack of custom playing cards inside.  Here's a pic of the koozie:

  • We did koozies and bottle opener keychains. I got the koozies form TotallyPromotional and I'd highly recommend them- our order came with  "bride" and 'Groom" koozies too which was fun :)

  • We LOVE candy, so we chose a candy buffet as our favors, and all ages loved it! We purchased candy from Smart 'n' final and Winco, glass jars from the dollar store's and michael's (use there 40% off coupon's). We ordered personalized goodie bags online.  We added this to our Cake table at Maggiano's and it looked beautiful, everything complimented each other. Total cost $120 for 50 guests.  We had 12 different size jars and one basket. We also drove to Vegas so we were able to bring all the supplies, and we let Maggiano's keep the jars.  Since you will be flying maybe you can rent a candy buffet or ship plastic to the reception.

I'm obsessed with candy too, so we're doing a candy buffet at our home reception. Although as part of my clean eating I am avoiding refined sugar (and additives, colourings, preservatives etc) so by the time the wedding rolls round I may have a fairly adverse reaction to all the candy!

  • Candy buffets are brilliant. I saw one with a 'love is sweet' banner. Looked amazing! My concern about having one is my 6 year old DS. He would be ALL OVER IT!

  • We decided not to give party favors at the wedding, but instead are putting everything in their welcome bags that we are handing out at the limo ride when people get into town.  I found two on Zazzle.com that I loved.  Here's one of them http://www.zazzle.com/welcome_to_las_vegas_bags-149430670587908626 the other one reads Vegas Baby.  They are both recycle bags.  We are putting personalized koozies, personalized playing cards (we purchased the stickers from zazzle too and just put them on cards from Walmart) Advil, 5-hr Energy, mini-sunblock, mini aloe, hand sanitizer, water bottles and snacks.  We figured since they are getting all of that, then they will be fine without getting something else at the reception.

It's fun putting all of the bags together too! :)

  • Oh, I forgot to mention, Zazzle also has the personalized wrap for the water bottles and we got our koozies from TotallyPromotions too - they have some really cute ones!!
  • We just thought of this idea this weekend!

We are going to name the tables after our favorite hotels.  Then we are going to get dice and cards from the hotel, For example, the Mandalay Bay table will have dice and cards that say Mandalay Bay.  We'll put the dice in a personalized shot glass with our names and wedding date it.  That way people have a Vegas souvenir too!

Great site! I love the shot glasses, they are now on my list, the price is right!

They also have a cheap bag with the Welcome to Las Vegas logo on it that I might use for the gift bags. Was going to go with craft paper with handles and a customized label, but these are fun too (and easy, I'm all about the easy!)

Also think it would be fun to include the "used" genuine decks of cards, they have my hotel as an option.

OK, now I just need to wait until January so I know how much of everything I need to order!
