cake shopping on somewhat of a budget

So I never really planned on a cake just serving heavy apps in suite after ceremony so I found a cake I really loved for 25-30 servings but its a little out of our budget from retro.. they wanted 240.. I'm looking for something no more then 175 anyone have any recommendations?

Here is Freed's "Budget" pricing - I think this just means very simple decorations and frosting designs. They have example photos of budget cakes and I think they're very nice looking. The smallest 3 layer serves 25 and is $165:

Another option is to buy a smaller decorated cake and buy a sheet cake to serve the remainder of your guests. You could easily serve 30 for under $175 that way.

We are going to do minny cupcakes and then just a smal 6" topper to cut

at retro they are $12 per dozen and a smal cake I think is under 40

I think that some brides have actually gone to Albertson's in Las Vegas (grocery store chain) because they do wedding cakes that are inexpensive. Their website has cakes serving up to 44 people for $30 bucks (decorated how you want, with your colors, etc.) Perhaps someone who is local can share with us the closest Albertson's location to the Strip.

My cousin had 4 sheet cakes made with their pics on each in black and white and set the up in a row to look like a photo booth strip. I thought it was totally cute and might not be too pricey since they are just cakes and u do have to pay the 50% mark up to have the word wedding in front of the word cake
