Flowers for family

Fill me in... Who are you providing corsages and bouts for? Are you not providing any? Why not?

S'mores. Just S'mores please.

Coursages MOB, MOG, 2 godmothers, 5 grandmothers (I have 4 of those 5).

Bouts: We did peacock feather ones. All the guys, 2 dads, 4 gpas, two godfathers and an honorary groomsman (one of FI's brothers is physically/mentally handicapped so he cannot be in the WP, but we are doing all the same stuff with him (tux, bout, gift, etc) to make him feel apart of it. (17 all together)

    ETA: Spelling

  • Argh, I still have to make these things.
Our corsages will probably end up being more like bracelets that I'm planning on making, and they'll be more elaborate for MOB & MOG, but I'm making ones for FSILs too. One is playing the piano for pre-ceremony and the other will be doing a reading. So, that's 4 corsages/bracelets.
Bouts are for: G, FOB, FOG, BM, GM, Officiant.
  • Right now the plan is Corsages for; MOB, GMOG
Bouts; FI, BM, BM2, My son and FOB

Now I'm wondering if we shouldn't make a miniature bout for our ring bearer.

@lplions - I was going to make my wrist corsages. That seemed to be a difficult task for how I want them. Now I found a girl within thirty mins of us that makes them for really cheap. The florist by me was going to charge $15 a piece for a wrist one with just a gerbera daisy. This new girl is only charging $9.95 a piece for the wrist ones plus a peacock feather. Such a better deal.

  • Corsages - GMOB, MOB -
Bouts - FOB, GM, RBs for sure. FOG (if he is invited...)

BMs will be getting bouquets. FG will be getting a flower wand.

Not sure yet what I'm getting for FI's sister yet...she is doing a reading - but I'm not sure if she will want a corsage...

We're not planning on doing any flowers at all, so it might be weird for us if the 4 ladies to have real flower corsages.
  • Good question.

Corsages: MOB, MOG, My great aunt (My great aunt is like a grandmother to me.)
Bouts: FOB, 7 Groomsmen, 2 ring bearers
Floral head wreath: 5 flower girls (but will be carrying faux flower pomanders, and 1 older FG will drop faux rose petals)

I do not have a Godfather, FI's is deceased, as is FI's father. There are also no living grandparents on either side.

  • All very interesting. I am debating on whether to go to the expense.  Grandparents would expect them.  My head is spinning with all the input from the mothers about this and I am a bit frustrated.
FI says to scrap it all and just do flowers for me and MOH.  The savings is significant but the grandparents are a huge part of why we are doing the whole shebang.  So I feel like I should honor them appropriately and not offend them.  Last - if I do them for the grandparents, I cannot omit the parents.  It's all or nothing.  And FI refuses to have a bout for him or his BM.  Was that all enough babbling?
    S'mores. Just S'mores please.
  • We plan on the following:

    Corsages:  MOB, MOG
Bouts:  FI, GM (3), FOB, FOG, my brother (who is officiating) and ring bearer

  • @09McSteph03 - What if you just did a single flower bout for all involved. If you're paying for it, they shouldn't say a thing. If they do, brush it off and walk away. They'll get over it.

  • I have been debating about this with FI.  He wants to just have bouts for the BM and GM and no corsages for anyone.  I really wanted to get one for his mom since she is helping us out a lot but then that will open a can of worms with my mother, stepmom and his stepmom.  I feel like you can't just get one, it's all or none.  Also, for the fathers, I don't think any of them are wearing a tuxes so it might look weird on a shirt and might be too heavy.  I also have a stepfather so I would to have to get him one.  Neither of us have any living grandparents so none there.

I did get a smaller bout one of my ringbearers but the other one will only be 10 months old so he won't be getting one.  He will probably eat it!
