Fall Flowers?

Hey Ladies,
My FI and I are getting married 10/11/14 and I've been looking at flowers. I want to do a navy blue and butter yellow wedding with maybe maple leaf red accents. I've been looking online at what flowers are in season and I feel like I'm striking out. My dad says I should go visit some florists this fall and see what they have in season but I'm excited/impatient. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Hannah

Re: Fall Flowers?

  • Im having a hard time too. I think I'm going to follow your dads advice and go in the fall. That way I can see what they have as well as start looking for a florist. Try googling Fall Flowers? I have found a chart before (either on pintrest or in a wedding magazine) on common wedding flowers, the color they come in and their seasonal availability.
  • I know its not navy, but to incorporate the blue you could always do blue hydrangeas

  • hi! we are wedding date twins!!
I just recently went to my local florist- and mostly everything I was looking for was available- especially since its still pretty early in the fallish season! I was very pleasantly surprised. My tip would be don't hesitate to ask about the flower that you believe would be out of season because more then likely your florist is getting flowers from more then one vendor that has different on/off seasons during the year so that they have a wider range of flower choices and more availability! Good luck!!
  • Oooh cool! Thanks!

  • I was wondering the same thing, but I looked up what flowers are in season in October and as one PP said, there's a lot.  I really want submerged centerpieces, so I think I may go with calla lilies or orchids.  Then again, I've yet to talk to a florist about any of this :x

  • another suggestion is looking into silk flowers too. Cheaper then importing out of season flowers that you dream of!
