Where to shop for wedding dress in Seattle/Bellevue? Any feedback is great!

Just got engaged last week! (yay!) Planning a November wedding (this year), so not a lot of time, but enough (hopefully!). I'm a little overwhelmed with where to look for a dress. I have a day set aside in August that my mom, sis, and friend can come with for a fun day of trying on dresses and lunch, etc. Would like a few places to try on some dresses. I'd like to keep it under or no more than $1000. Any suggestions?  Thank you!

  • Hi there! You might get better feedback if you post this on your local board.

I'd go ASAP honestly. For November, you're cutting time really short. Some designers might not be able to guarantee you a dress. I relied on yelp, google, and wedding wire to find the salons I went to.

    Good luck!

I agree with PP. If your wedding is this year, you'd be best looking at David's Bridal.  Most designer dresses take 4-9 months to arrive.  That even means "lower end" designers like Mori Lee, Alfred Angelo, etc.  Often you get lucky and they arrive in less than a month, but most cannot guarantee that.  I'd find your local Davids as soon as possible.    Most of their dresses are in the $400-800 range.
  • Ditto the PPs about shopping asap; you'll probably have to be looking for off-the-rack.

There's an Alfred Angelo in Tukwila and a Group USA (Camille LaVie) at the Auburn SuperMall, plus, of course, David's all over.  Also, you might want to check Nordstrom' s weddings department at the downtown Seattle store.  I think Belltown Bridal (in Belltown, natch) has sample gowns.  Champagne Taste in Kirkland is a consignment shop which specializes in bridal.

  • Thanks for the feedback everyone! I'm on it!!!!

  • I went to Bellevue bridal, they were awesome to work with. Their dresses are very reasonable (got my for less that 1100), and also, if you call and ask them, I'm sure they could have the dress for you ASAP.
  • Blue Sky Bridal in the Greenwood area is nice and they have their inventory online. I've been accessory shopping at I Do Bridal in Wallingford and it looked like they have a great selection of dresses. I've also heard that La Belle Elaine's is very nice also (but I haven't been there). Good luck! Congratulations!!
