Wedding Woes

Falling Skies watchers

Hal is hot. Thankfully, Wikipedia says he is 25 so I don't feel so creepy about it. Also, this show leaves me with many questions, most of which are stupid.

Re: Falling Skies watchers

  • Bwahahaha!  I hate when you think some guy is hot and plyaing a teenager, but when he turns out to be well over legal age, it's much better :)

    What are your stupid questions?

  • Like what are they using for birth control? I refuse to believe that people aren't getting it on. But it would be tres stupid to have babies. I also think about how I would be the first to die in a situation like this.
  • As you get further through it, you'll see that some people should have used some form of BC :)

My guess is that people aren't doing it much (I wouldn't be in the mood too often w/ aliens always after me) or they get them from raiding hospitals & pharmacies.  It's not too far out from the end of regular civilization, so they haven't expired yet.

I'd probably die too.  I cannot run fast.

  • You're also talking about people under major stress levels and w/out regular access to food.  So, I don't think it's too huge of a jump to think that the woman might not be ovulating normally, even when they are getting it on.  I don't have too huge of an issue with the science in this one  I can look past it, which I couldn't do in Revolution, b/c they wouldn't take the time to explain that basic physics wasn't working until like episode 5.

I used to think Hal was hot.  This season has ruined that for me.  I haven't seen the latest episode, but apparently it was just amazeballs.

I would probably die b/c I'd be all, I'M RESISTANCE, and realize IDK how to fire a gun.  I'm glad this season changed course with Professors job.  I love political dramas, but I didn't want this show to go that way.  (I'm trying not to spoil it for PMeg).

  • Amenorrhea isn't guaranteed though. And it always seems like they have just enough food (albeit not high quality).

I think this is my only beef with the story line is that they jump into this several months after the aliens have arrived and they don't really show how the militias formed/everyone got supplies/etc in detail. And I know this is just a me thing because I like logistics.
  • That is coming.  :)  I think that the show was a bit shaky at first, then grew stronger. For me, it has  a bit of a missed beat in the 2nd season, but we kept watching.  At this point, I think I'm just glad to have something sci-fi to watch on TV, that as long as it isn't really really terrible, I'll keep up.  And the production is nice.
  • I'm on episode 4 of season 2.

Just give me this peeps- does Pope get offed at some point? He is driving me crazy.
  • Nope.  I LOVE Pope.  He starts turning into an incredibly complicated character.

Hm, they're in Charleston then?  It starts to drag down a bit there, but then the finale had my mouth hanging open in shock.

  • They are contemplating going there. The pilot showed up and told them all about it.

Dang it. Pope was starting to irk me- he's awesome one moment but an incredible PITA the next. I was hoping he'd finally succumb to some sort of hair grease strangulation.
