How does her H know there's 'plenty of supply'? And no, no, no.

She may have enough now, but who knows what could happen?

Dear Prudence,
I am a new mother of a lovely 4-month-old baby girl. My husband has been curious about my lactation, and I allowed him to taste some (from a bottle that I pumped). Now, he wants more. He thinks this sweet, fatty milk product would be perfect for a creamy mushroom pasta sauce. This disgusts me. Turning breast milk into food for adults feels a bit like making margaritas from my sweat. My husband argues that since we have plenty of supply and it wouldn't hurt the baby, I should just let him try it and get over my repulsion. Am I being unreasonable?

  • Send him to the local foods store, buy him a jug of raw milk and tell him to stay the hell away from the titty diamonds.

Let him sit there with electrodes aimed at his prostate to collect enough ejaculate for Alfredo sauce in a workday in the bathroom and not get fired. See how fun that is for him.

eh, everyone who opened my fridge knew that I had 'plenty of supply' because there was a fridge drawer full.

But...I would not have been OK w/ making breastmilk alfredo.  Because, really, THAT'S TO MUCH DAMN WORK.
I can't believe Ms. Lactating Lady isn't attaching her breast-pump to this dude's skull to suck his eyeballs out of his head--each one of those tiny bags of milk = AN HOURS WORTH OF FUCKING WORK.  It should be like $100 a bag!
(^I say that with all love for Miss Buffy and all that.  Hell, I over produced, I donated milk, and I had a [relatively] 'easy' BFing/pumping experience.  But, really,

Buy a damn cow, creepy dad.
  • I'll never eat creamy mushroom alfredo sauce again.  :(
  • I think it was last year, one of the food blogspot I frequent covered cheese made from breast milk. I'm a pretty adventurous eater, but I don't think I could do food from human breast milk.
  • i had joked about making ice cream for Wolverine from "excess breast milk"  when i was coming up on her first birthday and had a freezer full and she wasn't supposed to have cow milk, but i never went through with it.

I'll confess that I considered selling my excess...
I didn't, I donated, but there was a part of me that was irritated by the lack of tax write-off for it.  Largest source of potential of cash I ever donated and I got bupkis :-P
