I'm having a really hard time deciding on wedding favors. I want something unique. I don't want any of the "knick knack" type things that are all over wedding favor websites. Any fun suggestions?

The only favors that I'd like are either edible or the little flower cards that have seeds in them.

I had a destination wedding and gave out "welcome bags" that doubled as a favor. In the bag I included a spray water bottle, beach mat, and magnet that said "I went to *bride* and *groom* destination wedding and all I got was this magnet.

Everyone seemed to love the magnet idea.

Favors aren't necessary. If you decide to do them, edibles usually work fine (as long as they're compatible with the majority of the guests' diets).

I'm doing a cookie bar for my favors. Edibles are always appreciated. I've been to weddings with popcorn balls, one had homemade chocolates and one had fortune cookies. I've seen on various wedding sites where homebrewers gave their beer as a favor, and lots do jams/coffee/spices. If you want to stay away from food, you could do seed packets like @winelover123 said or little potted plants/herbs.

I agree with edible favors being the best bet. I am doing "sea glass candy". Its actually just hard tact candy. Super easy to make, pretty affordable & hopefully a great choice.

The only difference is that I am doing the candy in the colors of my wedding..blue & green. Blueberry & green apple flavor.

We're doing bookmarks. We're both big readers, and we're both writers, actually, so bookmarks made sense. They also go with the "theme" of our wedding, such as it is.

We are doing chocolates. I figured if it's something guests could eat, they would be gone quickly. I can always eat what's leftover too!

I LOVE wedding coozies. I collect coozies though and always carry one in my purse.

Otherwise, I love edible favors.

I think favors are a waste of money! I dont have one wedding favor from any weddings I have attended. You could always skip the aggravation...I doubt anyone will miss it! But if you do want something, I agree...edible is the way to go!

I'm thinking about favoring beer koozies that either say "To have and to hold and to keep your beer cold," or "To love, laughter and happily ever after." I'm going to put the menus inside the koozies to keep it looking cute and classy.

Additionally, for my escort cards, I'm going to give chocolates in the shapes of landmarks in my city. You can usually get them made pretty cheap if you're getting them in bulk. You could also do chocolates with your and your fiance's initials!

Here's some ideas: maple syrup, jam, preserves, soap, chocolates, baked goods, bottle stoppers, personalized deck of cards, or bird seed made into the shape of a heart or something.

Leaning towards a candy bar as a favor substitute.

In my "practice wedding" (I.e. to my first husband, lovely wedding but not such a lovely marriage), I did chocolate bars with the wrappers doubling as the seating cards. I think about 75% took them (or ate them during the event!) and we didn't mind the leftovers (gave some away, enjoyed some in the weeks to come)!

We are also doing can coozies... we love that they're useful. We went the "To have and to hold" saying, but said "drink" instead of "beer". Some people use them for sodas too!

Our venue is a casino and every guest will get $10 rewards play vouchers so those will go inside.

Thanks for all the great responses. I was leaning toward edible and now I am sold. (I'm also doing the coozies for the wedding party/immediate family to give out the night before, after the rehearsal.)

I'm going to do some local chocolates. I'm going to personalize them by printing up stickers with our monogram, and putting them on the labels.

I don't understand this concept. It's not like an ocean opens up on your hand. It's a tiny bit of condensation. And how long does it take for a person to drink a beer that it actually gets warm?

I love koozies. I don't drink a beer in the summer without one. And when you live in the hot, humid Midwest, they are fantastic for beer drinking. Your beer can get warm and produce tons of condensation very quickly.

Interesting, I've lived in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Chicago.. and I never had a problem. I mean, yes, it would have some condensation, but don't people normally provide a cocktail napkin? And I'm not nursing the same beer for 2 hours, so I guess it never got ridiculously warm. Not to the point where I need a rubber thingy to hold a can in. I also can't imagine handing these out at anything other than a VERY casual backyard bbq style event.

Nope. Cocktail napkin on a boat on the lake or next to the pool? It'll blow away in a heartbeat. I mean, at restaurants and more formal settings - sure. But average day drinking a beer outside or at a house party? Someone better hand me a coozie. Drink a can, switch it out in my coozie, drink another can.

Lol QueerFemme, I'm sad we disagree on coozies. At least we still share a love of donuts.

Maybe I just drink them so fast, I don't let them get warm. (actually, I don't drink beer at all, but I do drink diet pepsi out of a can and the occasional Smirnoff ice out of a bottle.).

And yes, I must be a cocktail napkin snob. I have them available all over my house when I host parties, even casual backyard bbqs. I just wrap a napkin around the can or bottle.

But yes... yes... donuts.

I did chocolate suckers, a co-worker of mine did carmel covered apples & little bottles of Maple Syrup (fall wedding in an area where lots of local syrup is available)

since most people I know would rather have a chocolate or candy instead of a trinket, we are doing brightly coloured individually wrapped candy - think Jolly Ranchers - scattered over the entire table, rather than just a little bag per seat. Since we are outdoors and have white table cloths with gingham runners but no place settings (aside from just the chairs) and it is buffet style with all the plates etc. on the buffet table, we thought scattering the multicoloured candies would look really pretty and bring colour to the table

Our colours are red/black/white, but most of our decor flowers are multicoloured with heavy reds in them.

We're having a photo booth and guests will get the "strip" of any pictures they take and will also have a large dessert/candy table for folks to take home some sweets.
