I have quite a few friends on FB who are getting married. There has been a few gems from them, including a Facebook event to the ceremony of one girl's (she does not plan on sending invitation... and the wedding is next year... I got the FB invite in January...) that specifically says the bride & groom invite you only to their ceremony, not to the private reception for family only later.

Anyway, I woke up to this lovely status by yet another bride... "so tentative bridesmaids and maid of honor for my wedding (moh is definite) MOH K**** bridesmaids B**** and P**** this is again tentative. one is subject to change based on her life plans"

What life plans is she referring to? is BM carefully coordinating a prison sentence which overlaps the wedding? Cuz that's the only thing I can think of that would affect that decision.

this is passing into snarky bride territory, but this is her second wedding. She is my age (21), so albeit, she's a little young, but she is really getting this whole wedding planning off on the right foot. On a positive note, she does plan on sending real STDs and invites apparently.

but yes, I cannot imagine what "life changes" would mean someone wouldn't be a BM anymore. Although, I am very tempted to comment, "So glad you chose your wedding party! Why would one be subject to change though?"

Is she inviting everyone to the wedding that she invited to the FB group? I have friends that have made an event on FB for their wedding, invited all their FB friends to that, then only sent invites to some people. I just roll my eyes every time it happens. It seems like every person I know from high school does it!

I wonder if the "life changes" involve sleeping with the groom or punching/stealing from the bride....I can see those as some of the ONLY valid reasons to remove someone from your wedding party, especially after you've made some kind of public announcement.

Sorry about the confusion - that's a different facebook bride. The one who made the announcement about her bridal party plans to send invites/STDs, as she group messaged a bunch of people for their addresses (not a thread that I replied to, trust me...)

The bride who has a FB event does not plan on sending out anything. Their event reads: "JGroom and JBride invite you to share their wedding ceremony. The ceremony is open to all friends and family. (Please bring umbrella if it is raining) They are only having a small family picnic afterwards in ThisSmallTown, Ohio" Further, the bride comments on the group about the change from July of this year to July of 2014 by saying, "Sorry for all the date changing everyone but this one shouldnt change bacause it gives everyone more planning time......"

Please tell me what in the world you need to plan at this rate. Anyway, I just have entirely too many "friends"/brides who are obv not on TK.

Misuse of words and tenses is yet another reason why I left Facebook. I guess because I'm not on anymore, it's not official that I graduated from college and grad school, passed my licensing exams, got a job, and am getting married. Can't wait to see the look on FI's face when I tell him its not an official marriage because neither of us have a Facebook account! HEEE!

Pregnancy probably. She wouldn't look good in the dress or the photos, obviously.

^ I figured the same thing ashleyep did. Because wedding photos of course can't have pregnant people in them. And, you must choose your prettiest friends, even if you must go into the pool of frienemies while bypassing better friends. If one of the bridemaids dares dye their hair an unseemly color, that too, is a big life decision that would probably warrant them being cut out.

Well, just from knowing this family, I'm guessing everyone was ok with it including the B&G. They are having a very short engagement (about three weeks) so it's pretty short notice for invitations. The family is just very much "Oh yea, everyone come, it'll be great!" type of people. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, just shouldn't be the way it is for a wedding.

Oh, not necessarily, @ajuliana. BF and I looked at a similar time frame in May (we didn't end up getting married then) when it looked like I was not going to have health insurance coverage.

Sorry. I have a weird sense of humor. Growing up Catholic we always wondered how our parents would react if one of us had a shotgun wedding.

Yea, I have no idea if she's pregnant. Knowing the family, I'm guessing not but I guess, you never know. I will admit, the thought did cross my mind.

And I have ANOTHER lovely Facebook moment for your enjoyment (or facepalming). So my little sister is getting married in a few months (I'm a BM, yay!). Anyway, I log onto FB today and see that one of my sister's best friends created an FB event for my sister's wedding! And it's open to friends of guests. So basically, any FB friend of a guest can click "join". (I could click join without being "invited" to the event.) Really?!? That is so not ok!

I like this girl, I consider her a friend as well. I think she just doesn't know that it's not ok to do that. I plan to call my sister tomorrow and let her know. I doubt she wants all of this girl's FB friends (many of whom are acquaintances of my sister whom she doesn't necessarily overly like) to see that and assume they're invited.
