I think this is a great idea. First of all, who doesn't love girl scout cookies, and second, through buying the cookies you're supporting girl scouts, which is a great organization and a great cause. (I've always liked the idea of doing a donation as a favor - I mean, who needs another picture frame or candle, especially when that money could be better spent elsewhere?) I remember that I used to be able to buy cookies directly from the girl scout council (it used to be in Paramus on Forest Avenue, I'm not sure if it's even still there), but you could try contacting one to see how you could order them. I did some googling and I think that http://www.gsnnj.org/cookie_sale2010.html would be a good place to start. Good luck and let us know how it turns out!!
Brad - What's wrong with helping out girl scouts? Even if this was her intention she's helping out a club that gives our little girls something to do instead of sitting on their ass in front of the TV. I would rather get a yummy favor that supports this over a bottle cork.

I didnt say there was anything wrong with it, but it isnt creative. It is practical, she needs a favor, FI GD is selling cookies, people like cookies, done deal. And I she didnt say she was being creative, but all the great idea comments make it seem like she is doing something creative and has a great idea. Which she doesnt...
And I would think it is odd, like I said, I would assume that someone close to the bride and groom needed to sell extra cookies to be able to sned suzie to summer camp or something, so the bride and groom did this to help. And I would think it was strange for a wedding.
It would be like someone who likes to make ice cream or some kind of pie and they get married and think it is a great idea to have that thing that they already make as their favor and think it is creative and a great idea. No, it isnt creative, it is practical.
I've never been to a wedding where I got girl scout cookie as a favor, so it is creative even if it's practical. Now you're entitled to your opnion and I do see where you're coming from but I don't think it's that odd to get a favor that is meaningful even if it's to help someone go to summer camp. I think a favor is something the guest gets for coming to the wedding, most of the time I forget what I got cuz it's some dumb shot glass I'd rather eat the cookie.

I don't understand why you are reading so much into a favor. Who gives a crap it is just something to say thank you to your guests. Whether it is girl scout cookies, or a donation or some trinket why does it have to be something that means something to the bride and groom. It should be something to just say thanks for spending your night with us.
Brad- stop being a douche. It's sad that you have nothing better to do than be judgemental about everyone else's ideas when you never share any of your own and then you have the audacity to criticize others. Get a life.
I'm surprised people haven't learned to stop feeding the trolls yet.
I would be pretty psyched about getting a whole box. You're putting people who give two cookies to shame. Although I might be cursing you out the next morning when I find in my drunken state I had eaten half the box.

And K-I love the idea, I just ordered 5 boxes from my girlfriend at work from her daughters troop (2 for FI and 3 for donation to the food bank)
Oh ladies - to you I say thank you for all of the above.
To Bradley, How do I loathe the, let me count the ways. I ABSOLUTELY only thought of getting the cookies through god daughter as an after thought. I actually bought 6 boxes from the guy I work with's daughter today and said hey, I love these, hmmm. maybe as a favor. (1st thought). Then huh - sean's god daughter sells these - I could get them from her (2nd thought).
So, now that you see my thought process clearly - are you comprehending? I would never choose a favor to benefit someone else - however it is an added bonus that it's for a good cause.
But from your comment above about how it annoyed you that everyone said "great idea" - boo hoo, get over it. Come up with an idea - tell everyone about it, and maybe you'll get the same response.
Hopefully you don't have some toolbox like yourself with a bunch of crap to say.
Oh shoot, Kelly, I can't believe I did that haha, yes MH and actually I bought ones for him that I'm not a fan of so I can fit into dresses for weddings this year lol. And Kristin you fricken go girl!
Then I have to say I give you a lot of credit that you did that, because I know that I would not have the same self control especially when it comes to somoas. Oh how I love those!
I think it's a great idea! Go for it! You can't go wrong with food as favors and although it wasn't meant to be "creative", I think it is. It sure beats the heart measuring spoons and other useless favors I've gotten over the years!

K No! don't do that, not checking it, I have 2 dresses (on that i have tried on and requires spanx) that I need to wear this year, I cannot be taking them out! I need to keep my pre wedding figure!
Can anyone please sell enough cookies to send me to Space Camp? Please??? I think the only thing I like more than Girl Scout Cookies is astronaut ice cream.
Uppereast, everyone at my job buys TONS from the people who sell, I can do it, just get yourself signed up and I'll make sure I get you to space camp, I'll even buy you freeze dried ice cream to take!
KP thats a great idea. I would be a wedding crasher just to buy the cookies to support the cause! Maybe we could also sell extras to send Brad back to whatever planet he came from.
