i can totally handle great pyrenees! my aunt has two - because she's a crazy person.

they're the sweetest dogs ever though! i love them.

we are going to her house for thanksgiving this year and my BF has never seen one in person. I don't think he believed me when i said how big they are. I'm excited to see his reaction

@queenofhearts1728 - If I had a nickle for every time I heard "You could put a saddle on that thing [our dog]" or "He's bigger than you!" I'd be a rich woman. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when your BF meets them. They are sweet dogs but it takes a TON of patience to own one. In my 31 years on this Earth I've raised Akitas, German Shepards, Labs, and some other guard dog mixes. Nothing prepared me for the stubborn nature of a Pyr, especially my high-energy guy. After a lot of training with me, about 4-5 dog classes and 3 personal dog trainers he even sometimes (if I'm lucky and have a treat in hand) comes when called. God knows I love him though.

are they really that stubborn? I only seen my aunt's dogs around the holidays and they always seemed so well behaved, but i suppose I don't know what went into getting them that way lol

Not all of them. I belong to a website about them though and there are more than a handful like my guy...thank goodness I can vent to some of them about our Pyr's antics and someone out there in the Web world can relate. If he doesn't want to do something = it doesn't get done and, like I said, I'm a pretty experienced dog owner. A lot of people see a cute fluffy Pyr and want one so I take to reminding people how independent and difficult they can be sometimes. I hate to see them in the shelters.

It's hot in Georgia until November. It starts cooling down a little in October in the mornings and evenings but all I know is that I won't be getting my fall clothes out until probably Halloween.

Ahh, I'm so jealous of you people with your cooler weather! We're back up in the mid-80s again here in Chicago, and I have my employee outing for work which means starting at noon I will be outside for the rest of the day (sigh). What I wouldn't give for it to be in the 70s today!

Unfortunately, Murphy's Law has been in full effect this week for my BF. I just hope nothing comes up now for Sunday. I hate to keep pushing it back. Especially since it's started to get cooler around here.

Psh. I would move back in a heartbeat if I could. I tried for about three years, actually. Not that I'm that far away now - I can be in Massachusetts in 45 minutes - but I was born & raised in Maine and went to college in Connecticut, and my whole family still lives in the homeland. Maine = my happy place, and also, the most beautiful state EVER.

It's usually reasonably cool in CO in the mornings, usually 60s, but by afternoon its 90s

my car doesn't have AC anymore and I'm VERY ready for it to be cooler again.

OMG....that sounds so good right now. I've only had one pumpkin spiced latte so far and I wanted one this morning but when I drive to work, I zone out so much and I completely forgot about it lol.

Tonight BF and I are hanging out with my mom and her dogs. I'm restocking my mom's wine cabinet and bringing tasty pizza. My dad has been out of town all week helping my grandparents out. Grandpa is still in the hospital because of his broken hip but the surgery was successful. Hopefully he gets to go home in a few more days. He still has trouble getting in and out of bed on his own but the doctor says he is progressing very well on all of the "goals" he has to achieve before leaving the hospital.

Tomorrow is @southernpeach89 's first shower! YAY! I still don't know what to wear. I wish I had the money to buy something new but alas. Afterwards we may go buy alcohol for the shower I'm hosting for her next weekend.

Sunday BF and I are hanging out with another couple and making a game called kuub. Has anyone heard of or played it before? It's fun...you get to chuck wooden dowel rods at large blocks of wood! That evening we'll burn yard debris in our makeshift firepit in the back yard and roast hot dogs and marshmallows. Eventually we'll make our firepit look nice but for now all we've done is cleared a big circle, dug a shallow hole, and built up a brick wall around the hole. It works for us for now!

Um - yeah. A lot of people are kind in the camp of "if I can get it out of a k-cup, what the heck is in that stuff?"
