Table numbers? So yesterday. Go with Candy Tables!!!

Was at a wedding this weekend and instead of tables labeled with Numbers, they were each labeled with a candy, and they had the respective candy on a dish at the table.

IE Hershey Kisses table had a bowl of 'Hershey Kisses'
KitKat Table had KitKats

It was adorable and helped people to intermingle as they wanted what the other tables had.   Definitely had some bargaining candy swaps going on.   :)

  • I think I like this idea more than i should. My dad went to a wedding a few months ago. He said m&ms were in little glass dashes every where around the venue and every one at them all night. Big hit.

I'm interested in seeing what other people think about this. I wonder how you would let each person know which candy table to sit at though? Still have escort cards?
  • @sunriseamber Yes - still have escort cards.  Each escort card listed the guests name and their table.

    For Example:

Mr. John & Mrs. Jane Doe
    Table: Milk Duds

    Or if having a board:

    Table: Milk Duds
Mr. John & Mrs. Jane Doe
Mr. Gary & Mrs. Suzy Smith
    etc.
    etc.
    etc.

Too bad I already have the materials for my table numbers, otherwise I definitely would've done this! Great idea!
  • i am doing mine after places that have meaning for me and my fi its also places we have traveled to we are putting a small blurb under the table name so they know why we named that table
  • Just make sure that if you have any large number of tables (more than 8-10) to have some kind of "map" system so guests can actaully find their tables!  Also make sure the names you use are large enough to be read from a distance, just to make it easy for your guests to get in and get seated!
  • That sounds delicious! I love it.
