So we decided on our ceremony songs, and I feel pretty good about it.

We only have three because we aren't doing a unity thing - and we have a string trio that will be playing the music.
1. FI/his parents, GM and BM will walk in to Yellow by Coldplay (www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkilJbXdpqE)
2. I will walk in to A Thousand Years by Christina Perri
(www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBQZ5jGZ0G8)
3. We will all walk out to All You Need is Love by the Beatles
(www.youtube.com/watch?v=1N2AqelSBrs)

I can't wait!

They are playing before and after the ceremony too,
and I am letting them do whatever they want, just no U2!!!
(we are sticking with contemporary music)

ETA: I have no idea why it's formatting so weird, sorry.

Re: Music!

  • We are doing ours a bit different than the norm.

Everyone is seating to music like Lady Antebellum's Need You Now instrumental version, and other instrumental songs.

A friend of ours who sings professionally is singing Something Good by Julie Andrews as our wedding party and us brides walk in.

Then we are walking out to Stuck Like Glue by Sugarland.
  • i didnt think of music to play when guests are walking in... ah.

we are walking down to marry me by train

and walking out to what a beautiful day by chris cagle

i love both of these songs!

  • For those of you who are getting married outside and have not hired a musician...Are you guys having music at the ceremony?

I've never been to a wedding where they DON'T have music - but I've also never been to a wedding on a beach.  I would be using my venue's sound system that they bring to the beach - but I don't want it to sound cheesy or not be able to hear at all - there will be waves crashing in the background and maybe wind...

What would you do? Or what are you planning to do?

  • General seating: random selections by the organist

    Mothers/grandmother: Air by Bach

Wedding party: Prelude to Te Deum by Charpentier

Bridal processional: Rondeau from The Moor's Revenge by Purcell

Recessional: Arrival of the Queen of Sheba by Handel

i was wondering how this works as well. i am having my ceremony outside and my dj is doing my music but i'm not sure how he is going to set up. we are meeting with him next week.. hope we get an answer to this!

  • I am not getting married on a beach but my Dj says he has his own system for outside.  We are getting married on site.  I am hoping that everything sounds great.  I trust the company I chose.  My main concern is that I just want everyone to hear us say our vows,

  • My friends got married on the beach, they just had beachy music playing in the background the whole time, but quietly. The waves/ceremony were still most predominant.

  • We just spent hours deciding our ceremony music last weekend. I think we finally have it!

Before the wedding is just a mix of contemporary and instrumental love songs. I told the DJ think like the Pandora Wedding song station:)

Parents/grandparents will be seated to Kenny G's "Forever in Love"

    Bridesmaids- Train "Marry Me"

Bride- Piano/violin instrumental of "A Thousand Years"

Recessional- Ray Lamontagne "You are the Best Thing"

First dance- Michael Buble "Crazy Love"

Mother/Son- Celine Dion "Because you Loved me" FMIL request:)

    Father/Daughter- Trace Adkins- "Just Fishin"

    Anniversary dance-??

Last Song- Fiance' wants Marvin Gaye "Let's get it on". I said the last image I DONT want at my wedding is my parents and his parents and grandparents grooving to that song. So it is still undecided:)

    I love seeing everyone's picks!
