Newbie to Vegas brides

Good afternoon ladies... Newbie to the Vegas brides board.

Fi and I are getting married 8-9-2014 at Ceaser's!

Any twin dates? Anyone have experience with this?

Thank you so much! Which room did you pick? I am in the Tuscana room and I am looking forward to it. Fi's favorite place is Ceasers so I am so glad we can get married there. Which package did you choose?

I am so glad I posted something! Vegas is so amazing and I would love someone to bounce ideas and such off. Thank all of you for the welcome!!

  • I really wanted to get married outside so we are getting married in the Juno Garden. I picked the Cleopatra package although in hindsight I wish I had gone with a cheaper package because we are paying extra to bring in our own photographer. You have to pay an extra $300 to do that so I have ended up paying for a lot of photography that I won't use.
  • Oh wow... I am doing Aug so I had to be inside but I wanted outside as well. Sucks you are paying soo much for photos but it will be worth it in the end to have all of those memories and getting what you want. I cannot wait to hear all about it... You have to tell me everything!!

  • Caesars bride here! We're getting married June 28, 2014 in the Venus Garden. We went with the Roman package, and are paying a surcharge for outside photography and possibly a violinist. I'm also making our bouquets (fabric flowers).

It's really frustrating how little you get for $2K, and then for them to nickel and dime you for all the add-ons just for a 20 minute ceremony. But we visited the gardens and chapels in August and it was so incredibly beautiful, and it's worth the cost to save transit headaches since we're having our reception in the Forum Shops.

Feel free to poke through my wedding bio in my signature to get WAY more detail than you'd ever want!
  • I will thank you.

I cant wait to hear more!!!

  • I am curious what they nickel and dime you on... I am so freaked out about this. We are doing the Ceasers package because we have so few guests. Fill me in

I was quoted $350 to use a photographer other than Imagine Studios, PLUS you forfeit all of the photography stuff in the package- you don't get to substitute for flowers or anything else.

If you use an outside florist, it's another $300, PLUS again you forfeit anything from the package. Since mine are "homemade" I think I am getting around that fee. The flowers included in the package are NOT enough so either way you are paying extra.

If you do the Roman Package (the cheapest package you can use on a weekend), but you want more than 2 attendants, it's an additional $100 per additional pair of attendants (we have 3 on each side so we are paying an additional $100).

The musician charges are ridiculous as well. We're outside and they just have a little dinky keyboard for the included pianist to play. If we want to "upgrade" it's as follows:

    Guitarist: $200
    Violinist: $300
    Harpist: $500
    String Trio: $650
    String Quartet: $800

These surcharges are for *30 minutes* of music.

The included free night is ONLY applicable to that specific room - if you want to book a different room, it's non-transferable. We're undecided if we even want to stay at Caesar's, since our experience at the front counter was so horrid when we last visited.

So, to break it down, for the $2,000 we're paying for the base package, not including the things we're replacing by paying more money, we're getting:

    - Wedding coordinator (a few emails)
    - Officiant for 15 minute ceremony
    - Music on a keyboard
    - The privilege of having two of our own friends stand up next to us
    - 45 minutes in a semi-public garden

To contrast, the minimum at the Gigi Room in Joe's is $5,000 and that includes a 4 course plated meal ($5K would feed over 55 people), access to their integrated sound system and three 55 inch flat screens, and four hours in a completely private room which has handicapped access, dedicated staff, a bar, and its own kitchen.
  • Wow, I did not realize it was that bad... I was looking forward to this being so easy and not having the huge planning drama as I wouldn't be there to plan it. Ugh.... You are scaring me!

    Getting Hitches 08/09/2014

  • Wow really that is outrageous. I am getting billed for flowers, because I wanted a bigger bouquet and attendant flowers. Im just sticking with cashman. That's a little c r azy. Sorry things aren't as easy at ceasers :(
  • I always thought that charge per extra attendant was one of the stupidest things I'd ever seen.  I understand they may have contracts with vendors and they're required to pay those vendors per wedding, even if they're not used, but to charge someone just for the right to have more people stand up in the front of the chapel seems ridiculous.

@nikegrl688 It really *can* be easy! If you're fine with just going with Imagine photography, the pianist (which will be awesome in the Tuscana Room since there's a grand piano in there), and pay a little extra for flowers if you have bridesmaids, it really isn't a big deal.

Like I said, I made a measured decision to just deal with the headaches and surcharges. The venues at Caesar's are incredible. I just wish they could be a little more flexible!

Plus we're getting an amazing deal on our photographer, who does full day coverage for $1300. She's young but phenomenally talented and has been great to work with.
  • I do not have anyone standing with me, Fi has his best man and we are going to use the photographer because we didn't want to fight with them about adding someone. I would love to have someone do full day coverage.... Wow. That is amazing!

I cannot wait to see your pictures

  • It's only if you want extra's that you would have to pay additional fees.  They aren't pushing with all the added extra's that you could get.  Too me, having my own photographer was well worth the added cost.  And it wasn't a hastle, I just told them that I had my own photographer and they added the fee to the bill.  I am not too picky on flowers so I am ordering through their florist and I think they are fairly reasonally priced.  Check out Vegasgroom's website.  There are lots of options for photography and a range of prices if you do want more coverage!
  • Thank you. We are doing the reception at Maggiano's and then bar hopping all night with our friends since it has been years since we have all been together so I might want someone for that if I can get a good deal. I am so thankful I have met you on here. Thank you.

I really am always here if you want to talk or vent. you are helping me more than you know.  :)

  • Hi Vegas Groom! I went to your website and it was amazing! But i could only find info on Mandalay and Wynn (2 of the 3 chapels we are considering)...do you have any info on the new Aria Wedding Chapel?
  • I'm a twin date! Well, 8/9/2014 is the date we picked....just need to figure out and lock in a venue. And I'm new to the boards too.
  • Hey, I'm getting married at the Juno Garden on 7th August 2014, still trying to decide on a reception venue for 30 guests.

    We are date twins!

  • @nikegrl688 I got married at Caesars in July, it was great very smooth so don't worry! I went for the cheapest package and upgraded to 24 rose size bouquet and added an extra hour of photography with Imagine that was all so it was fairly easy to plan.

I loved the Juno garden! What are you thinking reception wise? I am loving everything about Maggiano's and its close to Ceasers. I have about 30 guests too!

Thank you for the reassurance. I know I have a lot of time but I am a huge planner so I am wanting everything to happen fast and I know it can't. I feel better though it was easy. I want more photo time... I am soo looking forward to Ceasers!
