June 2014 Weddings

Dress Length????

What length would be good for the bridesmaids dresses for a summer wedding? Short, tea length or long?

Re: Dress Length????

  • I personally think short dresses seem a bit prom-ish and besides i dont like showing my legs to much but thats just me and again everyone has different taste.. my girls are wearing long dresses but even if its a long dress and its that flowy material that should be nice even for the summer

  • We're doing knee-length dresses. It's late June, it's going to be hot. Plus it is a morning wedding. I was talking to my mom and she agreed that not only would long dresses suck, but they would look really out of place.

  • My bridesmaids are all wearing short. Since I wanted them to have something they can wear again, I chose black. They were all excited about finally getting to have a reason to buy an LBD LOL. They all chose different dresses and honestly, the dresses they chose are so reflective of their individual personalities! I can't wait to see them all dressed up :)

  • I am having my bridesmaid choose everything but the color, they don't all have to match exactly but I want them in the same fabric and designer.  I think shorter would work better in June since it will be hot.

  • We are having long chiffon dresses.  I prefer long because I feel they are more formal.  The only time they will be outside is for picture after the wedding/before the reception...and they have the air conditioned limo before and after. I'm wearing a long dress that is much heavier, I don't think they'll mind :)

It depends on how formal your wedding is.. and if it's outdoors or indoors. Formality means thinking of your venue, your dress, the tuxes etc and put into picture how you want it to look. With just looking at my dress, the girls have to have long dresses or it would be weird with them in a short dress and me in a ballgown.
