I think I only had like 150 posts when I first introducted myself... via my very own intro thread, which I now know are considered lame, lol. But people were nice and told me to jump in and start posting, especially in the chit chat threads. I think Loopy, Eagles and that NYCFoodieBride were the first people I talked to... although NYC hasn't been seen since that FFF where she told everyone her fiance often likes to say the "n" word and people were like, wtf, why are you marrying him?

I missed this... I don't know if it was before my time or I just didn't read, but either way, I missed it. Who is she and what happened?
Haha that is a good way to describe it, MUNI. I did feel very special. I was happy when Steph made up my nickname too because i hated that people would either call me my full SN or 'musical' and that is a lot to type, hah.
oh, Cindy was so special. She was from Long Island and had 26 passed hors douvres at her wedding and if she couldn't have provided for that for her guests, she would have just eloped. And she went down in FLAMES and was banned after getting into a fight with pretty much everyone when she got flamed hard for coming into a thread where OP asked "hey, i can't afford food during cocktail hour, what should i do?" and she came in and talked about her Long Island cocktail hour and how they do it in Long Island and how if you aren't from Long Island, then your wedding is tacky as shiit.

Wow she sounds like a peach. Although I'm going to have 30 to 40 butlered hors douvres at my wedding so.... ;P

Yeah, Musu, TK forced me to enter a username back in 2010 when I was trying to read something and I was like "whatever, I'm NEVER GOING TO USE THESE BOARDS"

If I'd known I was going to use message boards, I don't know that I would have used my 13 year old girl SN but oh well.
Musu - You're seriously the only other person I've come across that had or is having a January wedding... evidently nobody gets married in January. It works though, I've had my pick of vendors so far. It's also a Friday, so literally nobody else is getting married that day, haha.

Haha yay for Jan weddings! Mandysmear had a Jan wedding a few years ago. I wanted pretty snow pictures. It was 45 degrees and sunny. :( I had a Friday wedding too! It is definitely nice to have the pick of the vendors, I hear ya.
I'm soooo afraid we'll get a blizzard and nobody will be able to make it. My friend had her wedding in early February in 2010 and we got a huge snowstorm... I think 1/3 of her guests didn't make it. That best not happen to me. I would love a light snow for pictures, but that's it. I don't know how many outside pics we'll get anyway.. the ceremony starts at 5 and it'll probably be dark or almost dark by the time it's over.

I've wanted a winter wedding for as long as I can remember. December 8, 2012 had been my dream wedding date since before I was even with FI. Yeah, I'm kind of weird. We couldn't get that date though, apparently December is a popular month, but January is not at all.

Posted by MyUserName1[/QUOTE]
Yeah, but honestly, I really don't want to. I really want to be traditional and have the first time we see each other be when I'm walking down the aisle. I know most people who do the first look end up saying they're soo glad they did, but it's just not for me.
We did a first look so we ended up having lots of outside pictures in the light. Of course, the 45 degree weather made the pictures much more bearable as well, haha. The winter prior to this one, we had over 40 inches of snow by the same time. We had NOTHING on the ground this year. I was a little heartbroken about it, but in the end I still love my photos.
We did pictures as a group starting at 3 since the sun was to set at 4:30. We had the ceremony at 7 and took several more pictures afterward outside just the two of us during cocktail hour. The only reason we did that is because our venue was right next to the downtown park that has tons of Christmas lights on all the trees still. I love those photos.

I didn't think I was gonna like seeing J before walking down the aisle. I still got all wobbly and emotional as I walked anyway. It was pretty hilarious when I tapped J on the shoulder and he turned around. He was like "Whoaaaa." It was adorable.

<div>We're doing a first look. FI has already seen me in my dress. He's really not very sentimental whereas I am a hopeless romantic. I know this - and I know that I will be slightly disapointed if he doesn't get all teary eyed when he sees me in my dress for the first time. So I showed it to him to avoid that disapointment. My mom will be disapointed that we're doing a first look, but she can GTF over it : p</div>

Poke - Yes, go online and learn some "no snow" dances so you can be ready when it's time
