let's talk about menstruation

have any of you tried moxie? it looks like a ob rip-off, but they come in cute containers so you shouldn't feel ashamed about your body and so other people know to be on the lookout for bears.

Re: let's talk about menstruation

  • No, I only use reusable sustainable recycled organic hemp tampons.
  • I bought a Sam's Club box of tampons right before I got pg with 6let.  I still have it.

I've heard of moxie, but never seen it in the store or used it.

Tampons are too uncomfortable for me to use anymore.  IDK if it's because my child's huge head ruined things or because of mirena or something else.  /tmi

are you putting them in your butt?

  • Could be, Hmo.  Who knows what goes where down there?
  • I have not heard of these, so have not tried them.  I ventured off from using Kotex a few years ago.  It was terrible, so I went back.  They need to stop messing with their packaging.

I have this problem too, Conn. Also, my periods are so heavy after having Bacon that I push tampons out. It was lovely the first few cycles before I figured it all out.

I will give a shout-out to Always Infinity. Those things are awesome.

  • I don't need tampons.  My body has decided it doesn't need no damn men-stru-ashuns.

This is me - and YES to Always Infinity.  I'm amazed at what they can handle.

SEE LURKERS!  I'M A REAL PERSON WITH REAL PROBLEMS!  ;)
  • I also have the uncomfortables with tampons.  It just started after having kids - I had no issues before.

But now with Mirena I could use a single sheet of toilet paper as a pantiliner and be good to go.

    @oface4eva - what's up with that?

  • I'm interested to see if I can use a tampon after birthing this kid because I can't use one now.  I'm also an Always fan.

  • @tawillers Mirena has decided I don't need to buy any more Playtex.

    And now...TMI is over.
  • Adurr.  I'm in the same boat.  I don't know what I thought.

I *wish* that were the case for me.
  • When it comes time for the period, it's full coverage panties and pads. The only exceptions are a Tampax Pearl for the gym or with a bathing suit.

  • I haven't even heard of Moxie.  I use Tampax during the day and Always pads at night.

  • Mrs. Conn, I have a friend who has that very issue, but I'm sure she has the copper one as well, it made her menses worse (I just wanted to say menses).

  • Mine isn't worse, it's better than pre-DefConn.  It just won't go.the.fuck.away like I want it to.
  • i used pads more comfortable for my plus size body always for size 14+ but sometimes the store brand supper with wings overnight works  my periods seem to be irregular but recently they started becoming regular again and if it stays like this till my wedding i am looking at a very heavy flow on my wedding day :( not happy about that since i go through like 2 pads and hour i am hoping my cycle goes off again and i get my friend a week or so before my big day
  • ^^^^^  hyechica81, not sure why you would need pads since you seems to have missing periods (or any punctuation for that matter)!  :-)

Andplusalso, the words supper and heavy flow should never be in the same "sentence".

  • Tampons don't work when you are over a size 14?  What?

Well, that would explain it.  The majority of those that posted that tampons don't work for them are size 14 or over.  Who knew that was a problem?
  • But...they *used* to work, and I've never really been smaller than a 14. I think it's the kid who ruined me. Also, the being 36.
