Being released today, DH is dropping DD at school and then coming to the hospital, Brand New Colin is asleep in my arms, so this is a good time for the highlights:
DH was feeling under the weather Saturday and dragged himself through DD's swim class. We had promised to take her to the pumpkin farm, and I decided to ground DH and take DD solo, also hoping that the walking, wagon ride, etc. might kick start labor. Nope.
My induction was scheduled for 7:30 Monday morning, so we had planned a quiet day on Sunday. DH rested, DD and I baked Halloween cookies and cupcakes. My mom arrived that evening to look after DD while DH and I went to the hospital the next day. My mom only lives about an hour away, but she decided she'd rather not get up at the crack of dawn on Monday, thus the overnight stay. This turned out to be a very lucky thing.
I'd been having contractions on and off Sunday afternoon and evening, but they were mild and completely irregular, with no sign of getting serious. We set the alarm to get up for the induction and went to bed.
I woke up at 3:00 in the morning to 1) DH's annoying stuffy-nose snoring and 2) noticeably stronger contractions. I decided to start tracking them (I like the contraction tracking app called "full term"), and then all he'll broke loose in my uterus.
I actually didn't mean to make that a cliffhanger, but DH just texted and he's on his way up, so I'll pick this up later. To be continued and all that.
