June 2014 wedding color- Help

So I am having a hard time figuring out what colors I want for my wedding in June 2014. My favorite colors are purple and pink and my fiancé likes blue. I was thinking a lighter purple color but not sure if blue would look good with purple since its pretty close to purple on a color chart. Please help anyone have ideas for colors for the summer?

Congrats!!! I have been researching online and most websites are saying bold colors for summertime. So now I'm not sure what I want to do.

Ive always heard that you are supposed to choose the colors that match the time of year but honestly i believe its your wedding and you get to choose any color you like for your wedding... For example i initially chose my wedding date of August and then we changed it to October and i have never changed my colors (Ivory, Coral and Tan) and now that its going to be June 28 and im still keeping my colors... so wtbs i believe its whatever you want it to be!

My 12 yr old daughter is planning my wedding, LOL.  My colors are lavender, and a pale green color.  They look so pretty together.  My wedding is rustic, and it just looks so natural, and blends well.

We went to an outdoor wedding this past June with similar colors...light blue, lavender, and white. It was pretty .

The colors for my outdoor wedding are white, black, silver/grey.

We're doing purple and medium ish (malibu) blue. It was suppose to be light blue but FI didn't like those vests designs.. picky man! But I would def say it's a good combo so if you want to go with it, go for it!

We ended up with a multiple color theme.  Almost like a rainbow effect.  The girls and guys will be dressed in black with accent colors of the girls choice.  The guys accents will match the girl they will be paired up with.  This is similar to what we are going for...

I personally like BRIGHT colors so I think we may end up with sangria and orange, but here's another palette that I'm considering that you might like:

I still think it would look nice in summer, and it sounds like it fits pretty well with what you're thinking. I wouldn't worry too much about the season.

We're doing our favorite colors; pink for me and blue for him. If you guys are doing a unity ceremony you could do pink for you and blue for him, with purple being the final joined color.

I think those colors sound great together, they are all in the same shade family and would blend nicely :)

When we picked our colors we based it off the theme we wanted, which was outdoorsy and woodsy. We ended up with moss green and slate grey. We are also adding in a lot of champagne/taupe accents, to lighten things up, and it fits with the outdoorsy part for our area. We have pine trees and high desert!!

@ mmhamil23: It sounds like we have a similar wedding in the works next June. Catholic church with a reception in a historic pub. To keep with the traditional/vintage setting, we are going with an "English garden" look. Dusty blue, yellows, light grey and a little pink. Look into lace ideas for reception decor. Congrats, and good luck!

I am hoping it turns out well im a little nervous its going to look tacky but our reception is being held in an old church turned hall and its so beautiful big colorful stained glass windows! Im going for a fun summer nights feel!
