Which dress looks best ?

Hello everyone, I went dress shopping today and I was looking for a mermaid style but all of what i tried on were very "ball gownish" on the bottom which I didnt like. These 3 dresses caught my eye, and I love dresses number 1 (wtoo bristol) and 2 (casablanca) equally, and number 3 (casablanca) is best of all the others that i didnt like at all. In dress 1 I love the lace, unlined, see- through corset, and how it enhances my figure, but I wish it had some bling to it. About dress 2 I love the lace &bling i think its beautiful, and the very deep sweetheart. It has straps but for $70 you can have them removed. And the dress 3 has some bling and lace is pretty but dont feel about it as strong as about the other two. Obviously all 3 make me look taller (im only 5'1). Does anyone know of a dress that would be a hybrid of dress 1 + 2 ? Deep sweetheart, bling & lace, corset with some see through ? My budget is $1500. And which do you think looks best one me ? Thank you all

In my opinion, I like dress #2 the best! It's a great pick and if you want more bling, you could always add a sash! I bought a Mori Lee dress and I'm obsessed with it! Happy wedding planning!

I actually think number 3 looks best on you. My second pick would be 2. I'm not a big fan of the see-through, but that's just my opinion. They all look great on you.

I'm not sure of a combo b/w 1 and 2, but I think Mori Lee and WTOO are two good options at your price point. Also check out Maggie Sottero.

I prefer #2 or #3. You could always add a belt or sash to either to accent your waist.

It sounds like you don't love any of these dresses. Why don't you keep looking if they're not the style you prefer? Also, the "see through corset" style of the first dress is kind of tacky for a wedding. The other dresses are classier.

@Ven&Radio im not going to be a nun, its a non religous wedding so why not ? Plus my FMIL found the dress and said it was the best of them all. Its not like i have to get the dress now so I will keep looking for the combo of 1+2, i wanted to see what people think though.

I think you should wait until you put one on and love it and then don't ask anyone, just tell them you love it and everyone will tell you they love it.

10 people will like and dislike 10 different things about a dress so you could find a dress you loved and show your friends and say oh I just don't like that it has straps and then another one is like oh I like that but look at this flaw and another one is like no that's fine but look at this flaw and by the end of that you hate the dress!!

That being said, I like #1 the best. I don't love the see through lace thing, but it doesn't look super see through and I might not have known if you hadn't of said. I don't like how 2 falls on the bottom.

I quite like dress two. Not crazy about the fit of dress one, and the transparency seems sort of haphazard. The beading on dress three looks a little cheap to me, but I do think it's the best fit. So two gets my vote; what didn't you like about it?

I like #2 the best. I really do not like see-through wedding corset tops. I just don't get them. A wedding dress is not a piece of lingerie.

For the second dress, I think the only thing that really needs to be done is to have the top of the bust brought down just a smidge. I think the top of sweetheart neckline sits a bit too high on your chest. I think if you brought that area down a bit it would elongate you even more. I also really love the lace in dress number 2, very pretty!.

I agree with others in that I don't care for see-through corset tops (I'm having a non-religious wedding too, btw

), and on that particular dress it makes it look like you are just wearing a strapless bra with a skirt. I do like #2--the beading and lace is very pretty. I agree that the neckline just needs to be brought down a bit on you. Since it's form fitting and strapless you are still getting a sexy look but without a see-through top.

Theres nothing that i dont like about dress #2 I really love the beading and lace detail on it. I just wish it had a corset/ bonning. Im not a big fan of belts/saches so thats a no. And with dress #1 i dont think the see-through is that obvious I think its very delicate, and not so out there.

I really don't think you need a corset or boning in dress 2. You also definitely don't need a belt because all a belt will do is cover up the pretty beading and lace work.

Do you just like the look of the boning or do you prefer it because of its structure?

I prefer it because of its structure. And since dress #2 originally comes in with straps, im a little affraid the dress could be falling down while dancing etc. when i make it strapless. And i wouldnt want to add any belt to dress 2, some girls were advising it though.

That is a question to ask the seamstress. I know they said that they could remove the straps but does the inner structure of the dress really allow for this? Boning could be added but of course at an extra fee. Or even an inner corset could be added. If you really do like dress 2 then I would talk with the seamstress at the salon to really see if the changes could be made successfully.

Im trying to avoid any extra fees's so within couple of weeks im planning on going to a big city and visit 2 more bridal shops there and see if they might have something I will absolutly love without changing anything about it. I seen pictures of girls going strapless with dress 2 but i have to do more research on how it stays on after done so.

O wow the watters one is beautiful ! They are gonna have a trunk show in january at the salon where i tried the bristol on so im hoping i would get soem discount. I love the mori lee's top but not so crazy about the bottom.

Yeah definitely check out the trunk show. If you like and it's still out of your budget, call places like RK Bridal in NYC or Pearl's Place in New Orleans to see if they can sell it to you at a better price. They discount designer dresses but can't advertise the discounted prices online.
