our songs (so far) are: Mother/Son--no idea! Father/daughter--i like My Wish by Rascal Flatts but still TBD First Dance-let's stay together by Al Green
We're not doing an anniversary song but I am going to have the DJ play We've only just begun by the Carpeteners--it was my parents first dance song almost 40 years ago to the day from our date.
First Dance: You and Me by Lifehouse Father/Daughter: I Loved Her First by Heartland Mother/Son: Forever Young by Rod Stewart (picking a song was hard for this one! And neither one wanted anything too emotional - she didn't want to cry!)
First Dance: Reasons to Love You by Meiko (he proposed while the song was on) Mother/Son: Simple Man - the Shinedown version Father/Daughter: Every Breath You Take by The Police
We were lucky, in that all of the songs we chose had very special meanings that went back many years and also worked in context and for slow dances.
I LOVE Seal's new single "Secret" for a first dance. I would have done "Then" by Brad Paisley if we didn't have such a special song already. David Gray also has a bunch of really beautiful songs - "This Year's Love" was another top 5 pick for me
Our first dance will be Rick Astley, Never Gonna Give you up.
Yes, that's right. We're going to Rick Roll our own wedding. We win.
I was brought up by my awesome single mother, and we definitely want to do some sort of dance together.... what that will be, I have no idea.
My Fiancee and his mother were jokingly saying they should do a polka, which would be great (his family is from Wisconsin, hence how great it would be).
Re: What are your special dance songs??
We're going to combine father/daughter and mother/son at the same time, but haven't pick out that song yet.
