Where are you from?

I know a few of you mentioned TK used to list where we were from near our avatars. So many of you are friends IRL and I'd love to figure out where everybody is from and maybe meet up if I can!

I occupy the central parts of Connecticut. The reason I say this is that I have family near the MA border, live in Hartford, work about a half hour down the state and then the BF is in the southern central part. My car and I go everywhere! My sister and her new husband are in Queens, but moving to New Jersey. I used to visit them in Queens, but don't know what will happen with the move!

Re: Where are you from?

  • I'm in MD between Baltimore and DC.
  • I was born and raised in Westchester County, New York.  I also spent some time growing up in South/Central Connecticut.  I went to college in Boston, and lived there for 6 years.

    Now I live in Chicago.
  • I live in Connecticut, north of New Haven if you KWIM.

  • I think I probably went through your town @buddysmom80 when I took a road trip to BF's by setting my GPS on avoid highways. Thought I'd get a nice backroads drive. Nope it kept forcing me onto 17 and driving THROUGH New Haven. Well I guess I wanted an adventure.

  • The Northern Plains, a windswept portion of the country where the trees only grow in rows (and all point east) because that's how they were planted and if you drive for 5-10 minutes in any given direction, civilization may as well not exist. Beautiful.
  • I grew up in Maine but have been living in Manchester, NH for the past 16 years.

Ha. The majority of us don't live near a lot of other knotties, except all the North East bitches. And the DC girls.

I'm in Houston, with 2 knotties within reasonable driving distance to me: one's 3 hours, the other is 7.

ETA: I'm (*hopefully*) moving to Boston to attend BU for my masters in 2015. So I'll become one of those North East bitches.

    Mmmm, New Haven is KLASSY.

Yes, route 17 goes through my town, but I've never driven on it!

  • I'm an Army brat so I'm not really from anywhere. I've lived consistently in the Atlanta metro area since 2010. If you really want the full list...I was born near Savannah, Georgia (different area of the state) and we subsequently moved to: Kansas, Germany, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia (near DC), Augusta, GA and then Atlanta. Then I went crazy and decided to get as far away from my family as I possibly could so I went to college in South Dakota and lived there for about a year and a half after graduation before moving back to Atlanta again.

Basically I don't live near anybody except my sis. :)

  • Grew up in Western NY (boonies south of Rochester). Moved to Chicago in 2007 for grad school. Moving to DC metro area in January!
  • I'm an Army Brat so I was born in Heidelberg, Germany, moved to Fayetteville, NC, Carlisle, PA, Dumfries, VA (outside of DC), Augusta, GA (armpit of GA), a few other places in GA but we have lived outside of ATL since 2001.
  • I grew up in central PA, went to college in western MD, and moved to DE for grad school.
  • I'm sorta (not really) close to @beanbot2002. :)
  • I am in Louisiana - I think I'm the only one on here from Louisiana. I'm in South Louisiana. And if you're from here you know the difference between North and South Louisiana.... two different animals right there!
  • I'm one of very few West Coast Knotties.  I live in Southern California.  Let's say a close distance to Disneyland.  I don't get to see many ladies unless they venture west.  I'm sad I'm always 3 hours behind, by the time I'm awake and in action half of the NEY is reaching their afternoon.
  • I help anchor the west coast with motolyn. I'm NorCal born and raised (bay area).

And I find the east coast folks don't comprehend just how large California is. It would take about 7 hours by car south to Lyn's. It would take just as long to head north to the Oregon border.
  • I live in New Jersey and have been here for 6 years. I'm originally from Philly and Wilmington, DE and I went to college in NYC.

  • Grew up in Metrowest MA, went to college near Boston (not IN Boston, just close), and then bounced around Metrowest/Greater Boston for a few years after college before moving to Boston proper. I go to grad school in Boston.

Boston Boston Boston Boston WELP guess I'm staying here.

  • Western PA, make frequent trips to NYC, CT (cheshire, madison), and MA (Amherst)
  • I live in Colorado and I love it. I love the mountains, I love the people, and I really love Denver (and super miss living so close!) But I'm hoping in the next few years BF and I will find an opportunity to move to Washington or maybe Maine.

  • I grew up in Maine, went to college in Connecticut, lived in northeast Pennsylvania for a year, and have been in Upstate New York for nine years.

  • I have lived in both MA (Cambridge/Arlington) and RI (outside of Providence). There's about 45 minutes between the two, but they are very different places. I've been spoiled and think a long car ride or road trip is like 2 hours long lol
  • @phira where are you going to school now?
