Columbus Budget Catering

Hello,

I am looking for some advice, tips, input, what have you, for a budget concious wedding in the Columbus area, looking at next fall.

Theme is rustic-chic, and we are looking at barn venues. Also, just found the High Line Car House venue downtown, that is $750 for Sunday rentals.

I need ideas for a Friday night or Sunday afternoon reception for about 120-150 people. I would like to keep catering costs under $30 per person (not including alcohol). We are thinking maybe BBQ? Is this not acceptable for a Friday evening reception??

Look at the barns/ rustic venues thread (link)...it is the first one listed.

Checkout shoelaces catering (link) - they are cheap and awesome.

Also look at the Clintonville Women's Club - my sister found them to be very reasonable and you can bring in your own alcohol.

BBQ is an acceptable meal at anytime on any day. Host was you can afford. Shoelaces has lots of experience with BBQ as well as formal meals if you decide to go with them. My family and sorority has used them countless times.

AprilH81 might have some inout on Tall Timbers and daytime pricing.

My friend is using Caterers 3 are they are super afordable.

High Line Car house is a Two Caterers venue, they are pretty pricy I think.

We are using caterers three as well. For about $21 per person we are getting a buffet with two main dishes two sides a salad as well as veggies for the cocktail hour. Try their chicken gloria. Its awesome.

a neighbor of ours just used Weilands Market Catering for a tailgate party hog roast ... and it was great. Looking at their prices, they look VERY reasonable.
