  • Yay dress shopping!!!!

I love the first one, the last one is gorgeous too.

My dress comes in, in March.  I can't wait for it. Here is the pic of the dress

  • I have always thought I might want something in lace, if and when that day comes.

I think something like this is pretty:

    image

    here's the back:

  • @beanbot2002 gorgeous!!! I love lace dresses.

@beanbot2002 gorgeous!!! I love lace dresses.

It's really pretty. I don't think I could pull something like it off, being short and 'hippy'. And who knows, maybe I'll try dresses on and completely hate the look anyways. I just think it's pretty to look at.

A bride of mine had something very simlar, except the back was exposed. It was sweet while being incredibly sexy at the same time. I still wish we had taken more photos of the back. She was a really fun bride to work with.

I loved my dress when I saw it on the website and it wound up working well for me too.  There were quite a few dresses I loved online and hated on me.  Especially being short......

  • Looking at pretty dresses is way more fun than sales training meetings. I'm happy to be an AW.

I'm not quite 2 months post wedding and still crazy about my dress. I would happily wear it all over again.

Here are a couple shots from day of:

  • @doubleSS07. Thank you! I had a very clear picture in my head for a lace fit and flair. When the consultant brought this in nothing else compared. I wasn't even thinking of looking at anything other than sweetheart neckline. So glad the consultant pointed me to this!

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • I love my mom's dress - early 80s, long lace sleeves, high neck, but thank God no poofy sleeves. If hers doesn't fit me, I'd like something like this:

Clearly I am not an overly formal person.
  • I am going to a boutique next weekend to try on dresses. They don't have THE dress I want, but they have similar ones, and ones by the same designer. If all goes well, I will probably wait to order it ... as you can see, if I lose any weight, alterations are going to cost twice as much as the dress.

  • @Phira - I love that you want a blue dress and that one is gorgeous!

I'll admit that I love looking at wedding dresses. I don't really have a clear vision of what I would want for myself but I tend to like dresses that aren't strapless and that have something interesting going on in the back like this one:

  • Is it wrong for me to say that I LOVE all these dresses but have no idea what I would want for me? I think I'm missing a girl gene or something.

  • The first dress is my friend's dress! It looked gorgeous on her and it sparkled a lot. I still love my dress! If I had to do it again though I'd want a second short dress to dance in. :)

  • @phira I love that shade of blue!!!

@buddysmom80 I don't think you're missing a gene, I had no clue what I wanted when I first got engaged. Thank goodness for a long engagement!

  • @buddysmom80 - I think I'm the same as you. Even with the dress I posted, I love the way it looks but I have no idea if I would want it for me.

  • I'll AW my dress again, I loved it then and love it even more now!

But for funsies, I like this one:

  • I already have an idea of what I like on my body type. I prefer strapless, since halters and straps make my shoulders look wiiiiiiiide, and I know I can't move very easily in anything more constricting than a column-style silhouette. As for the waist, I am curvy, and not in the whole, "I'm curvy but I'm still conventionally sexy enough to be in ads for Dove." But I do have a somewhat defined waist, and huge hips, so something fitted through to the hip is great on me.

And then sweetheart neckline because booooobs.

I'm okay looking outside of the above comfort zone when I'm dress shopping, but not a lot else appeals to me.

  • Geez a bunch of you guys already posted dresses like the one I would want for myself. I try not to get attached to anything though. I'm short and I hate my stomach and I'd be horrified if something I fell in love with ended up looking horrible. So you can kind of say I'm like @buddysmom80. I have no clue what would work for me.

  • I have no idea if the dresses I like will look good on me.  I can hope so, but knowing my luck, I'll end up having to pick something in a different style.  I just like fancy dresses.

    Isn't it pretty?
  • @lennonkdc, I love that you have a very definite direction with your dresses. I can't wait for shopping trip pics. *hint, hint*

@peaseblossom55, you are going to look like a princess! But holy cow, the model in that photo is so 'shopped!

@shiroyasha, the Belle dress! I really thought I wanted a big ol' ball gown just like that, but I ended up with a much more form-fitted dress.

    Here's mine:

  • @lennonkdc, I enjoyed the hell out of your disclaimer. And your dresses! Can't wait for you to AW pics of dress-shopping!

I like lace, so a lot of the ones y'all have posted are some of my favorites! I also like the beach-y looking empire waist with a little bit of sparkle. Here are some that I like:

I especially love the last one, minus all the crap on the sweetheart neckline. I just wish it had sleeves, or at least spaghetti straps - I do like to feel secure about these things!
  • @leia1979  the model looks 'shopped in the dress, definitely something off about it.  It has a very different feel on me obviously and the skirt is not as poufy.

  • The Adelaide was my first choice, but then I fell in love with the desdemona. So much love for this dress.
