September 2014 Weddings

Hello everyone

just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I'm Karen and will be marrying my soul mate David on September 13 2014 :) we are planning a fall themed backyard upscale bbq reception following a water side ceremony. Thinking tables with choc brown runners over white cloths, with peach baskets filled with apples as centerpieces and mason jars tied with ribbon filled with sunflowers, and candy apples as favors. Small pumpkins holding  the table numbers and pretty silk fall leaves scattered down the runner. I'm sooo excited. Can't wait to meet all you and plan, vent and gush together during these next months :)

Re: Hello everyone

  • Welcome Karen! My date is also 9-13. My plans are just starting to take form, so no real theme yet. We have picked a venue and I hope the colors I want (purple and gray) will work there!
  • Welcome @soxycouple4ever.  I'm also getting married on September 13th.  So exciting.  And &Almie425, those are my colors too.  That's as far as I've gotten as far as theme goes.

Happy Wedding planning to us all!

  • Hi Karen!

My wedding is the week after yours - 9/20/14.  I love your theme and colors!

We are having the ceremony/reception at a bed and breakfast.  We are having a small celebration and 'wedding weekend'.  For the wedding itself, it is a country-chic theme mixed with farmhouse furnishings and a vintage touch - LOL!  Sounds crazy!  My colors are blush, ivory, and kind of a taupe/tan?  We are also going to do mason jar centerpieces ... I was thinking of using the ivory colored pumpkins (I forgot their actual name) for table numbers, or just paint a pumpkin ivory and stencil on a number.  I am not sure yet ... with only 40-45 guests, should escort cards be necessary?

Anyway, welcome, and I look forward to sharing ideas with you!!

Hi Ladies, Wow! All of your wedding themes sound wonderful! I have been using Pinterest to gather ideas. My fiance and I love the 1920s - 30s era, so we are having a Vintage-themed wedding and asking our guests to dress up and take part in the festivities. Our colors are carolina blue and gold with hints of crimson. It'll be a rather large wedding, ~200 guests. We are both of different Asian descent, so we will be celebrating via three ceremonies and one reception: a Khmer/Cambodian ceremony, an American ceremony, and a Korean Paebaek ceremony.

Kellybeans14 and Soxycouple4ever, I love your (ivory colored) pumpkins for table numbers idea! Very cute! Kellybeans14, Your theme sounds very romantic! I think escort cards would be a nice personal touch.

  • Nice to meet you all :) Your weddings all sound beautiful :)
  • @ginakwack since you are having a vintage theme wedding you HAVE to see how my hair trial.. Definitely 20's-30's era.. (but still modern).  I just joined "the group" on FB so i will show you on there... :)
  • Congrats you all!!! We will be married 9/13/14 as well. It will be held at a marina and the colors are navy, white, and pops of yellow. Does anyone have any "must do" planning suggestions yet?
