Reviews 10/18 - Part 1

Hi!  I have been reading the message boards pretty consistently for the past year but haven't posted much.  We live in Phoenix but most of our family and close friends live in different places in the midwest and on the east coast.  We decided to have the wedding in Vegas because if everyone had to fly somewhere it should be somewhere fun.  We also didn't wanted to make the planning as easy and fun for us as possible.  It ended up being the best weekend of our lives!  I'm posting most of the reviews here but then the review of the reception at RiRa (at Mandalay Bay) on a separate post because it's pretty long!  We had 25 guests for 3-4 days in Vegas.

Mandalay Bay Chapel – A lot of people review them and we were definitely happy with how everything went.  Everyone we worked with was great and it went super smooth!  The only negative is that we had 3 different coordinators during our 10 month planning.  The last one sent out an email that she was leaving a few days before the wedding so we ended up not really feeling a need to tip because everyone who helped us wasn’t there anymore.   I got the large tropical bouquet and I thought they were absolutely beautiful.  I am not a flower person and had no clue what to expect and I ended up loving them!  One other thing that worked out great was that we had our breakfast in bed that came with the package on the day of the wedding because we figured that would work out better with our schedule.  Well, they must have gotten something confused because we got breakfast in bed the day after the wedding as well.   The only thing we were not entirely happy with was Cashman and their prices but I had read a lot of reviews and knew what to expect.  They were exactly as described by other people, the photographer was nice and took great pictures but the prices were kind of ridiculous.  We have the ones from the wedding that we want and have tons of pictures taken by friends and family during the reception.

Jennaleigh’s Bridal – My husband is the one who dropped off my dress and really dealt with them but everything went fine.  They were scheduled to return my dress at 10:30 the day before the wedding but then called that morning and said they would be there at 9:30.  That was a little stressful but being early is never a bad thing.  They needed our room number and both of our contact information which is nice to know that they were thorough.  I didn’t think the rates were that bad either!

Tacos & Tequila – Most of our guests were staying at Luxor so we decided to have a meet and greet there the day before the wedding.  I called them the week before and made a reservation for 15-20 people from 4-6 p.m. with no hassle.  There wasn’t a minimum and we got happy hour prices.  We had 18 people who showed up and they kept the margaritas and nachos flowing!

Harmony  (HMUA) – She was as great as everyone else has said.  We had a good time with her and she was super efficient.  We even added my aunt’s make-up at the last minute and it wasn’t a problem.

Renta-Dress and Tux Shop — Hey, Jenny’s groom here.  I wanted to add a review for this place since they ended up being a real life-saver.  The morning before the wedding, my mom decided she didn’t like the dress she brought for the wedding.  My dad called down to Mandalay Bay’s concierge and asked for the names and numbers of dress rental shops.  He called a few, but this was the only one that said they had dresses with long sleeves, which was a must for my mom.  I grabbed my parents and we headed out to the shop at about 2 PM.  I was not very optimistic about finding anything my mom would like, but lo and behold, the nice ladies at the shop found her exactly what she wanted.  More importantly, they furiously worked on measuring and altering the dress she picked out like she was their only client ever.  We were only in the store for about an hour, and they managed to have the dress altered and delivered to Mandalay Bay by 7 PM that evening.  What quick service!  My mom went from being incredibly anxious about her dress to incredibly happy in a matter of hours.  If any kind of dress or tux emergency should happen before your wedding, I definitely recommend this place.  Back to you, Jenny!

Gimme Some Sugar – We met with them for a cake tasting and gave her my invitation.  They made a cake that matched the invitation that was delicious.  The cake was delivered to RiRa the day of just like promised with no problems.
