Unique Reception Venues?!?!

Hello,
I am looking to have a spanish themed wedding here in Pittsburgh (my family is spanish) and we are looking for a reasonably priced reception venue - we are open to all kinds of ideas such as renting out a restaurant!  Any ideas??

Much appreciated!!

    Welcome!

Phillychica had spanish and mexican elements at her wedding, and jlbaxter's FMIL is from Spain, so lots of people can give you ideas.

But yeah, reasonable is a personal thing.  How much do you want to spend on your reception and what does that include (food/linens/alcohol/etc?)

She is from Spain, very Spanish. I thought about having our RD at Mallorica or Ibeza (sp?) but, it was just too expensive. I'd say go for whatever you like, then make the details spanish.

We had a half-Spanish wedding (Puerto Rican & Spanish family). We didn't use a venue that was particularly Spanish, we just incorporated elements in the menu, had a bilingual Catholic ceremony and had a Latin DJ (if you need recs, let me know).

Just as an FYI, although Mallorca is expensive and too small for a reception, you can order pans of paella from them for a RD or another wedding event if you'd like. We are thinking of doing this for our kid's baptism.

It's not necessarily Spanish... but Bella Sera has a neat feel to it: www.bellaserapittsburgh.com/index.html"><<clicky>>

I also think it's a pricier venue as well, though (the prices under the "wedding" tab list anywhere between $65 - $85 per person, plus fees and I don't believe that includes the $30-ish/person charge for alcohol, either).

Bella Sera is pretty pricey IMO. Their minimum for a Saturday Wedding is $20K. I think the minimum for Friday and Sunday is $10K or $15K.

However, it is a cool place if it's in your budget. Places that I would consider unique would be the Zoo, the Aviary, the Mattress Factory, or even the Warhol.
