Is this appropriate as a 1920's themed bridesmaid dress?

The theme of our wedding is 1920's/Gatsby. We're trying to stay away from it looking to costume-y, but we'd still like it to be identifiable. I would like to purchase this dress as my bridesmaid dresses. Mostly because they're under $150- I have very budget conscious bridesmaids-, but I also feel the shape would look good on a lot of body styles. We'll accessorize with headpieces and probably kitten heels. I've looked for many other dresses, but everything I'm finding is $250 and up or over the top. What you think?

It doesn't say 1920's/Gatsby to me, but if it is what you want then get it I guess.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the BM dress. I also don't think it's very reminiscent of the look you're going for.

Some of doey's picks are better suited for your theme, I think.

I really like the dress you picked but it doesn't say 1920s to me. I like some of doeydo's suggestions.

Im not saying you'd do this but I could see it with a themey wedding...keep in mind that if you ask your BMs to get their hair/makeup done or wear anything specific outside the dress (like jewelry, shoes, hair accessories etc) you need to pay for it.

I could see that dress going either way as 1920s...but as a tall person I just have to say that I hope your BMs are on the petite side. If I were asked to wear that I'd feel uncomfortable because it would be extremely short on me, like halfway down my thighs. Also super short BM dresses tend to not be flattering on anyone who is not super skinny, because it highlights horizontal rather than vertical lines. I see a lot of wedding pics with BMs in super short dresses and cringe.

It doesn't scream Gatsby to me, but if I understood your post you weren't looking for something that screamed it else it would look to costume like. I think their dress would compliment your dress beautifully without looking like you were trying to match.

There are a lot of great Gatsby looking Sue Wong dresses on eBay right now. I'm hosting a Gatsby-themed benefit this winter, so I've been keeping my eye on them. Most sell for around $100 if they are not Buy it Now. Depending on how many are in your wedding party, you may be able to find enough of the same dress.

They all have lots of glitzy beading. While this may not be the dress because of the feathers, you can get an idea of the beading:

I think it will go,but you need to check it out either on the internet or watch the movie The great Gatsby in which they have shown everything from that era due to which you would be able to make judgements.
