January 2014 Weddings

Got my first RSVPs :)

I am so excited! I sent out invitations at the 10 week mark (last Saturday). It was a little early, but I need a headcount 4 weeks before the wedding for my venue (which seems kinda crazy to me). So I got back my first two RSVPs today. It was people I knew would come, but it was exciting to start getting them :) Anyone else getting RSVPs yet?

Re: Got my first RSVPs :)

  • I haven't sent ours yet. I still have to address them. I'll probably send them the 2nd week of November. The wedding is January 18. I can't wait though to get mine back too :)

  • It is a lot more exciting than I thought it would be. And tomorrow is my first Bridal shower and my dress fitting. Such a great week :)

  • Sent ours out last week and got one back. My fiance cant wait to get them back. He loves seeing them. Its so funny.
  • I'm sending out my invites this week, so I won't be getting RSVPs for a bit yet.  I'm sure I'll be excited when I start hearing who can make it and who can't.  Hopefully there are very few who can't!

  • We have RSVPs each day for the past four days (we sent them a week ago, I would say). My mom texts me saying "more RSVPs" and it always adds some pep to my day! So far all yes. However, most of the no's wait until the last minute anyway from what I hear lol.

  • Yeah I am getting worried no one will say no! So far all yes. We have 40 guest's RSVPs out of 100. My budget is all for 75 guests, but I guess we might need to be ready for more!

I hope it works out for you.  That is why we always recommend budgeting for 100% attendance.

Thanks. It will be okay even if 100% come. Me and my FI will just need to put in $1,000 from our personal money to cover the extra costs. I contacted all my vendors and got quotes for 100 guests. We have not paid for anything so far, so it is not a huge deal. But I am glad we realized this now and can make sure to set aside the money over the next month.

  • I'm doing online RSVPs, but it's still just as exciting! I'm also getting worried that too few people will say no... For me, it's not a matter of budget, but a matter of space.
  • I've just started getting my first RSVPs, which is a little crazy, because my invites went out this Tuesday.  Snail mail can go pretty fast.

  • I am also getting back RSVPs. Every day I can't wait to check my mail to see who replied. Some people are adding personalized notes. I love it!
  • I know! My mom wrote such a sweet note on hers. I am getting a lot less now. I think I will get a lot more right before and after the RSVP by date. So far 46 are coming, 42 no response yet, and 12 are not coming (that is including plus ones and children). My date to RSVP by is December 1st. I need a final headcount by December 7th for the venue.

  • I got my first RSVP's back and it is making everything seem so real and urgent now.
  • My RSVPs are coming in now as well.  My deadline isn't until just before Christmas, but people seem keen on saying that they are coming already.  Can't complain with that!
