NWR: Shows

My FI and I have both Netflix and Hulu. I was wondering if you ladies could suggest some good shows to watch on HULU?? I am open to watching anything since I give shows at least 2 or 3 episodes before deciding I don't like them.

Re: NWR: Shows

  • I don't know about Hulu but on Netflix I liked/like The L Word, Mad Men, The Tudors, and Orange is the New Black.

  • @doeydo   I watched Orange in the New Black. It was great! I will have to check out the others.
  • Ooh yeah, The Tudors is excellent! Well worth your time.
  • The Tudors is great except that Season 4 went wholly off the rails and abandoned any pretense of historical accuracy.

Henry VIII was crazy enough without people having to make crap up.

I'm addicted to Hulu and Netflix...

I watch revenge and scandal right now as an addiction. Scandal would be awesome for both of you to watch.

I'm addicted to that show as well. They have a book out too. The person Orange is the new Black is based off of actually wrote the book. I haven't read it yet, but hoping someone gifts it to me for xmas, if not, then I'll be buying it.

  • The Tudors definately!  The L word was great too.  Mad Men of course.  And Breaking Bad!
  • Mad Men

    Freaks & Geeks
    Weeds
I loved Freaks and Geeks. I will never understand why that ended after only one season. It amazes me to see where that cast is now.

Right?! I never watched it when it first aired and only saw it last year. It's crazy how many (now) well-known people were in it. Such a good show.
  • When I was younger I read all of the Gossip Girl books and I was hooked, when the TV show came out I watched one episode and was pissed at how much they deviated from the books. I stopped watching it but recently tried again and now I'm hooked. Totally obsessed. My husband and I also loved Orange and can't wait for season 2. When I'm done with Gossip Girl I'll probably switch to Dexter or Pretty Little Liars. Isn't Netflix great?

  • Here are some of my favorites (not sure if they are on Hulu or Netflix)

    Homeland

    Lost

    Rescue Me

    The Tudors

    The West Wing

    The Good Wife

    Veep

    Shameless

I have heard House of Cards is good but I haven't seen it yet.

  • Now I am showing my age, but I used to consider these my "never miss" shows..........China Beach, St. Elsewhere, and Twin Peaks.

GG is awweeeesome. I'm so sad it's over. It's funny though because the Spanish ones get listed on Hulu now since they're just starting it. It makes me want to go back and re-start the series.

Amen. Also, the costuming is so painfully bad. So heinously inaccurate that I yell at the TV. Had to stop watching. I love Tudor era history and I'm willing to suspend disbelief and play along for the sake of a fun show or good storyline- but I have my limits.

  • NETFLIX:
    Orange is the New Black
Revenge (new season is also on hulu)
    Rules of Engagement

  • @erinlin25 Thanks! I have seen Orange is the New Black but I will check out the others.

  • Tudors

    The West Wing

If they have mini series, the ThornBirds and North and South (but skip book 3, it gets ridiculous)

If you like smart comedy, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
