Bridesmaid Gift Ideas

I am having a hard time figuring out what to give my bridesmaids as gifts. What do bridesmaids really want as a gift? I have seen a lot of monogrammed items as gifts, but I don't really like the idea of monogramming things. What should I get them. I would like to stay around $40 a person.

Re: Bridesmaid Gift Ideas

  • The best idea is to pick something individually for each girl. Like you are shopping for their birthday. It doesn't have to be the same for each of them.

Definitely. If you want to do something cutesy (like anything matching and monogrammed, or anything with your wedding date on it) do it in ADDITION to a nice gift for them. Like, maybe some cute personalized champagne glasses to drink mimosas while getting ready for $10/person, and then $30/person for an actual gift individual to each one.

    Stuck in box. This.
  • I gave my MOH a jewelry box with a friendship message on it, filled with one of her favorite candies.  I gave my bridesmaids matching bracelets.  They are my nieces and were 13 at the time (cousins, not twins) and they like a lot of the same stuff so their gifts have always been the same or similar.  They opted to wear them to the wedding but I didn't ask them to.

  • I gave my MOH rain pants because she lives in a rainy area of the country and rides her bike everywhere. She had just been caught in a huge downpour and had been complaining about getting really wet. One BM loves to scrapbook and had a cricut so I asked a friend that she scrapbooks with if there were any cartridges she wanted and got her one of them. A different BM got stuff from Bath and Body works, loose-leaf tea and a tea infuser shaped like a cat. She adores cats and bath and body works. My other BM got a flask with her name engraved on it. I was a little hesitant to do this but I was talking to her mom and she mentioned that BM really wanted a flask to have when she gets married this spring.

Everyone really liked their gifts. So my vote is to buy like it's their birthday.

I did give them jewelry to wear the day of the wedding but it was stuff that I made for them and it wasn't part of their gifts.

  • I'm starting to shop for gift ideas right now.. my church requires the girls cover their shoulders so I am going to buy them the shawls this is not part of their gift.  I wanted to get them wristlets I think the Kate Spade ones are always cute, and get them each one in a color they like.. or a design best suited for them.

  • I ended up getting my bridesmaids all some sort of artwork for their walls. The exact type of thing I would buy them if I were shopping for their birthdays!
  • I started my girls Pandora bracelets and picked out a charm for each of them that suits their personality/style

  • None of the things offered as bridesmaid gifts on websites suit my friends (sorry TK!). Instead, I am getting each of them a necklace and earring set, and also a book that I think they will like since my wedding is literature-themed (plus they all love to read, and we all became friends because of our shared nerdiness).

Don't feel like their gifts need to be the same, or even match. Remember, this is a gift to thank them for being your best friends, who stand by you on the day you marry your very best friend.

  • I did a few things. For both of my BMs, I got them tote bags, makeup bags and filled them with a bunch of bath and body works stuff. I also bought them jewelry to wear in the wedding  and cute hangers for their dresses (not part of their gift).

For my sister, I also got her a really cute umbrella from Coach since it is the start of rainy season and for my sister-in-law I got her a Diamond Candle and a cute framed picture of us. I also wrote them both really nice heartfelt thank you notes.

My sister said the note was actually most meaningful but I think picking something you know each will like is the best way to go.
