Each time I call, the dress shop keeps pushing back the estimated delivery date of my dress. Originally it was supposed to come in February. I've called three times so far and have been firmer each time, yet each time they tell me a later date than the last time I called. I know that it will need substantial alterations in the bodice area, a bustle, and a hem. At what point should I start to worry if my dress isn't in? How long do alterations normally take?
The wedding is in on June 4th, 59 days from today.
Re: When Should I Worry?
IMO, now is the time to make some waves. I had a friend that had a shop do the same kind of stuff with her and she finally called the manufacturer about the order to find out that the store did not order the dress when they were supposed to. You should find out exactly where you stand... it may even be best at this point to go into the shop and ask them face to face. You don't have a lot of extra time now, and I think you may be at the 'squeaky wheel gets the oil' stage. good luck! Don't worry too much though until you've spoken to a manager or owner. You may be causing yourself unnecessary worrying.
