Hi all. I've been lurking off and on for quite some time now and I would like to formally introduce myself. Here's my story: I'm originally from MI but currently reside in Raleigh, NC with plans to move to Maryland in the near future. My guy lives in NYC and will be moving to Raleigh to be with me the first week of January. We met in 2004 while in college in MI, he was there on a football scholarship. We dated for a year until he had to return to NY to finish school. We attempted to maintain a long distance relationship but the distance proved to be too much for us at such a young age (I was 19, he was 21.) During the process of an amicable breakup we made a silly little pact that I never imagined we would follow through on: If neither of us were married by the time I turn 30 then we would marry each other. We remained very good friends over the last 9 years and in August he told me that he was ready for another chance. I fell in love with him all over again and we have decided to get married. I showed him a ring that I absolutely LOVE and now I'm just (impatiently) waiting on a proposal. If I get a proposal in early 2014 then I'll be planning for a 8/2015 wedding. He told me to give him 6 months. I look forward to getting to know the wonderful women on this board and hope to give as much as I get out of The Knot!
