Was enjoying seeing the post with everyone's plans for their FI/H's gifts so was just wondering what you ladies were planning to get for the little ones at home? FI's son is getting a snake, clothes and shoes (mostly since he seems to grow a half inch every time I turn around), one of the CODv games, and then going snowboarding the day after Xmas.

  • My almost 3 year old nephew is getting several plastic construction vehicles (bulldozer, asphalt roller, dump truck etc.).  He *LOVES* the Good Night Construction Site book.

My almost 1 year old twin niece & nephew are getting Little People Noah's Ark (niece) and Train (nephew).  I am also making them Christmas Elves from a pattern I bought from Etsy.  I have limited sewing skills so this should be fun...  I made my older nephew a Christmas sock monkey for his first Christmas so I felt I needed to continue the tradition with the babies.

  • We don't have children, but we're getting FI's nephew a crayola art easel :)

  • My niece is getting a penguin glow pet--I couldn't resist
  • I have NO IDEA and I'M FREAKING THE EFF OUT.

Seriously. I usually have all my shopping done by now but work has been excruciating and I've been sick for like a month so I'm wiped out. DS is 3 so luckily we're still in the phase where it doesn't take much to please him, but I feel like a slacker. Gahhhh....

  • We're getting BF's niece and nephew each a new outfit. We're also getting his niece some more coloring books (she's huge into art) and some My Little Pony related stuff. His nephew is 3 and interested in anything with a motor...but I think we're probably just going to do Legos for budget reasons. He's into building stuff too and so is his sister so I know they'll be used and enjoyed.

I just ordered this through the Scholastic book orders at DS's preschool! He loves construction stuff, so I feel like it'll be a win. Side note: remember those tissue paper thin circulars? I used to get so giddy when I was little and we'd get them, and they're still doing it!

  • They still do circulars? That's awesome!
  • DH and I bought my nephew a construction worker hard hat, a tool-bet (with working level, tape measure, and flashlight), and a 25-piece set of Black&Decker child's tools (plastic). My brother works construction, and my nephew (2.5 years old), LOVES to "help Daddy work" when he does stuff around the house, so we thought this was perfect.

His nephew (10), we got the Harry Potter books (he owned some and we completed the set), and Legos.

I'm gonna go with 'not my circus, not my monkeys.'
  • I bought my nephew some clothes since he is growing so fast. As soon as he gst a little older, I want to switch from clothes to books and toys. My goal is to be the fun aunt!

Growing up, my allowance was always spent on Scholastic books.  I have an almost full set on the babysitters Club somewhere.
  • I'm getting matching Christmas pajamas and Christmas dresses for my nieces, plus passes to the trampoline gym.

  • my 9 year old DD is getting a bike, orbees foot spa, monster high die-ner, head phones from justice, scarves, nail polish, light make up, a hair dryer, 3 in 1 curling iron/crimper/straightner

my 2 year old son is getting a Monsters U mini 4 wheeler, an art pad, and a leap from laptop thing (hopefully he'll stay off mine lol) I'm sure we'll add a few books and puzzles to that list but that's what is in layawy so far

My parents still have my full set too.  :)

My niece is almost 3 and my nephew is 6 months.  They'll both get French books from us, and we got them Oilers hockey PJ's and onsies at the game tonight.  I think we're going to get her a hockey helmet and stick too, and we've already picked up a bike bell.

Our goal is to get them toys or things that they can be active with, since we're both active and feel kids don't play as much.  They've also got a stupid amount of toys already and don't need more.  She gets soccer balls, bikes, mini footballs, etc. from us, though books always top the list too

  • my nephew (almost two) is getting a lego build animal set (his first legos ever!) and a book that has tons of stories inside it ($5 black friday at walmart, orig $17)

for his birthday (in feb) he's getting the gator putt putt (it says 3+ but, he's a big boy and can handle it) and another book with lots of stories inside it.

Last year was his first christmas and let me tell you, he got a crap load. From now on, auntie is just getting him books and a learning game of some type until he's older.
