I can't believe it happened! I've been on such an adrenaline high all day! Except for one tiny ripple in the pond so far with my boss, these last few hours have been the best in my life. I'm so excited to share it with all of you, and I truly am so appreciative to have you ladies in my life. @lmhollister I'm so glad we're engagement twins, I was rooting for you all the time (as well as @brisox81 and @bethsmiles) so I'm like really, really excited for you!!! Anyway, here's what happened:
It snowed yesterday and I got out of work early so I'm in my sweats playing Xbox (I'd like to just add here that I'm glad I didn't take my bra off too because I would've given myself a black eye from all the jumping up and down, anyway). FI gets home and is acting completely normal. I'm showing him all the Christmas cards that came in, I'm nagging him about snowblowing the driveway and he's like "did you see the Christmas lights outside? In the snow?" I'm like "no, not really" I'm thinking like they burned out or something. So he goes "let's go outside and look at them!" I'm just thinking in my head this is the weirdest freaking thing ever and I don't like the cold, why are we doing this??? Then he's telling me to go get Quigley's coat in the basement so now I'm like okay we're going for a walk in the snow, that's cool.
I get back upstairs we put Quigley's coat and leash on and head out to the front of the house. He's like "the lights look so pretty right now" I'm like "this is so not like you" but I'm just rolling with it at this point bc FI is not a holiday person so I'm like this is a big step. We stand in front of the house and we're just looking at the lights and our house and then FI is like "oh there's something wrong with Quigley's coat" so he gets down on ONE KNEE and asked me if I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him and Quigley. I freaked out I don't even remember what I said, I probably swore. We went back inside and he put the ring on my finger and then we called all the people.
I'm still on cloud nine! Anyway, here's a pic of the ring and also because it's cute, a picture of Quigley helping me decorate cookies this past weekend:
