Wedding Invitations & Paper

The American Wedding Pros/Cons wanted.

I found a design I really like on The American Wedding (See design here: http://www.theamericanwedding.com/circle-imprint-wedding-invitations.html)

Anyway, has anyone used this company before? Any reviews, comments or advice would be greatly appreciated. I haven't been able to find a recent past post about them.

Thanks ladies!

  • Pretty design.  Whose initial would you use?  I have always wondered about designs with one initial.  It doesn't make sense to me.

    I imagine they use the new last name initial.

    I haven't used them, but I know others who have and have liked them. Online reviewers seem to agree: http://www.weddingwire.com/reviews/the-american-wedding/ee1127ebeb8ff318.html

  • @CMGragain It would be his initial since I plan on taking his last name after we're married.

    @PDKH thank you!
  • Just a heads-up, etiquette says you aren't supposed to use your married monogram (or initial) until you're actually married, so it doesn't belong on a wedding invitation because you're not yet married when those are sent out.

    Traditionally, monograms appearing on wedding invitations would be the bride's mother's monogram because historically the bride's mother was the social hostess of the family.  Clearly that's no longer true of all families or of all weddings. It has become acceptable for the bride's monogram to appear on the invitation (using initials for your maiden name, not your married name).

  • CTYankeeBride is correct.  This is why I was questioning the monogram.  You shouldn't use his until after you are married.

  • @CTYankeeBride & @CMGragain Thanks for the heads up. I put a XP on the etiquette board as well. I will still be using The American Wedding company but with different invites.

  • I just got my invitations from them and I love them! They were very easy to order and I love the fact that I could include whatever wording I wanted to on them. They arrived really fast too and their customer service was great! I highly recommend them.
  • @tina0410 Thanks! Which ones did you end up going with?
