    ugh why do american's insist on visiting "Canada" as if  it's a small place you can see entirely in a week. Canadians never say "oh I'm going to the USA for a week, can't wait to really explore". Canadians realize there are 52 states, all with their own attractions and environments, what you get in Cali isn't the same as Washington and those states freaking border on one another.

    I live in Alberta and what's here is significantly different than what's in Ontario, there is 2000km+ (or approx 1200 miles) from here to there with a WIDE variety of landscapes.

    That is a very gorgeous (and chilly) looking photo Mama M!  Great for you for scheduling your HM when you will want the time away! :)

    And, bridezilla2b, while I get your point about Canadian geography, I do think it's quite common to say I'd like to visit X country, with the given understanding that not every corner of the country is the same.  I personally have said I'd like to see France, England, Italy and Greece and while I know that Venice and Rome and Tuscany are three very different cities, I would wholeheartedly agree to visit any one of them.  KWIM?  I don't think the above poster meant to lump all the experiences together.
