Which Monogram on Thank You Cards?

I'm planning to order a desktop embosser for our wedding thank you cards but I can't decide — should I use a wedding monogram, with each of our initials and our married initial, or my new monogram? I will be writing all the thank yous, and I feel the embosser plate would last me a lifetime if I use my own, new monogram. Do you think it will be weird to have the thank you be personalized with just my monogram and not something that represents us both as a couple?

Re: Which Monogram on Thank You Cards?

  • I would use the one that has both of you and your married last name

  • I think you should use the one with both your names
  • Since the thank you notes are coming from you and your future husband, not just you, yes use both your names.

  • Yes it would be weird to not include your new husband.  The gifts were given to both of you and even though you are the one writing the cards (and by the way he should be helping with at least some of it) the thank you is on behalf of both of you.  Also, a monogram with both your names will also last a lifetime.  You will always be sending out thank you notes, invitations, cards and a bunch of other written notes on behalf of you and your husband so having one with both names will always be appropriate.
  • Thanks everyone — I agree with you, I am going to order the one with our wedding monogram. I just needed to sort it out in my head. Also, I figured out I can use it for other parts of the wedding, like on the cocktail napkins and favor/guest bag tags!
