Me too. It's really nice not to hear all the defensiveness in favor of cash bars, PPDs, DWs with AHRs, dropping WP members, oddly worded invitations, etc.

We are getting married September 13th in a chapel built in 1874. It's all wood on the inside... very gorgeous. If you're there in the morning, the sun shines through a rose window right into the aisle.

Our colors are black, white, silver, and royal blue (because I have a silver and sapphire ring, and also those colors are classy). It also sort of has a literary theme, because FI and I met in a poetry class. I will have 4 bridesmaids and my FI will have 3 GMs. It will be right around lunch and we're going to have a ton of Southern comfort food for everyone... including a biscuit bar with every fixin you could want and also an Italian Soda bar. Our cake is delicious, from my favorite bakery from my childhood.

It's a nice change of pace and a good chance for some of us to catch up on other stuff. After all, once the trainwrecks start up again, well... it's so hard to look away!

Well I got married back on 2-25-2011 on St. Thomas, USVI. It was just basically a big party with all of our closest friends and our immediate family. So much fun though. I'm actually headed down there this weekend to visit my friends who live there.

Our colors were turquoise and orange (which might sound tacky, but they work when you are on an island). The turquoise matched the ocean and my flowers were orange.

It was just his brother as BM and my sister and MOH, but all of my best friends wore the same color to show their support (they did that completely on their own and surprised me).

Sadly though, I will be divorced soon

Obviously I'm sad about the failed divorce, but I'm really sad about the pictures. They were amazing.

Those are beautiful and daring colors! We did those colors for our rehearsal dinner (various shades of turqouise vases with orange and white blooms - a pinterest success) and they were awesome! A nice shout-out to DH's Miami Dolphins

Getting the guts to tell him was the hardest part. That was rally rally hard.

Thank you! I think it will be gorgeous. Just yesterday I finally decided on what I want to do instead of floral centerpieces... a few vintage books stacked on each other, with a scrabble tile holder to label the table (glued in, of course, to prevent accidentally spilling all the tiles), and a vintage teacup with a few small flowers in it on top.

Love that idea! That will be really unique.

I wanted to do something much more unique for our centerpieces, but buying and shipping everything down to St. Thomas was such a pain in the rear...and then I'd have to ship it all back. In the end, I just had flowers. They looked nice, but I wanted something different since we were in a botanical garden for the reception.

I really want to do July 14, 2014 (that's our anniversary) but it falls into a vacation blackout period from work, so if my boss won't approve my time off (I sent her the request on Monday) then I really have no idea. No other dates are super meaningful to us and I just want it to be warm. He originally was thinking May, but maybe we'll do October.

Here is what I've learned after being in a million weddings.

Spring weddings are da bomb.com.

Why? Because then you can do all the planning during the winter when you are stuck in the house.

Fall weddings end up consuming your entire summer.

This is coming from someone who lives in the midwest, so if you live somewhere warm, carry on.

We are getting marred at a local yacht club and our colors are navy and light blue!

I'm about to hit the 2 year engagement mark. To avoid ending up like the movie title, my FI asked our bagpiper to make sure I get to the ceremony site.

We live in Los Angeles. :P

And it's going to be very small, so there isn't a ton of planning aside from booking the restaurant (which will be both our venue for ceremony and reception).
