  I haven't heard of them personally.  Their website is pretty nice.  The fact that they couldn't give you good references is concerning.  A second point of concern is their facebook page seems to be all posts from them about cameras and memory cards and things, but no posts from other people or past customers, which you'd normally expect to find.  As an example, the guys that shot our wedding:

  They have lots of posts from past customers, other vendors in the Vegas area they have worked with, etc.
  
  I did find a post where LDM had a booth at the Aria bridal show last March so I don't think I'd worry that they're a scam, or they wouldn't be paying for that kind of marketing, but who knows how the actual finished product (your photos) would turn out if you can't get real references.  Perhaps ask them for the names of any Vegas vendors they've worked along side before, like hair and makeup or event planning; they might give you a name that is someone we're recognize as being legit and then you can call that person and see what their impression is.

  I think we'll have to pass on them anyway, as we already received a call (voice mail) stating that he wouldn't do our wedding.
